59 PER CENT OF WEBSITE VISITORS PREFER SMOKING

New York, NY Jun 4 2001 - In a poll conducted over the past year on its website, smokinglobby.com has determined that 59% of visiting users prefer smoking. That number is made more significant by the fact that 23% of visitors expressed neutrality and only 18% registered themselves as anti-smoking.

"We're very happy with these numbers, " says smokinglobby.com founder Bill Williams. "Less than a quarter of our traffic is anti-smoking. We're obviously reaching our target demographic."

Visitors who leave messages and opinions on the website discussion forum are polled each time they leave a remark with a simple checkbox. "We don't censor or moderate any opinions, unless, of course, they have nothing to do with smoking, " cites Williams. "Even obscene or inflammatory remarks are counted, whether they are pro- or anti-smoking, as long as they discuss an opinion about smoking or the rights of smokers today. We are open to all viewpoints, that's what we're here for."
