Just a thread to compare notes on the stuffing and rolling machines.

On the Premier -- I read an article over at ryo mag. where they said that they thought that the return spring should have less tension to make it smoother to operate.

I tried the machine without the spring and found that mine works much better --so now I'm going "SPRINGLESS" Wink

Anyone have any suggestions on making the process smoother or quicker feel free to jump in.

In regards to the Premier Supermatic (The only machine I have any real experience with)

Proper maintenance makes the experience much more pleasent, and of course, practice - practice - practice.

I have been MYO for almost (or maybe over) 2 years now and I am able to make nearly 400 per hour (when motivated). I then put them into either empty packs, sealed in a 1 gallon baggie, or the singles into a couple of tupperware containers, to await going into the empty packs.

I will typically have 36 packs made up, and 2 cartons worth in the tupperware, so If I spend 5 minutes per day, I can keep a 6 or 7 week supply handy at all times. (of course, I do get lazy and don't make em every night, so the ability to make 400 an hour comes in handy at least a couple times each year! Laughing )

Newbie here, justed started the MYO/RYO thing since Thanksgiving this year.
I'm using the Premier EXCEL machine and I'm very happy with it so far.
Have tried various combination of tobacco and tubes (I'm a menthol person) and think I've reach a nice mix with ElRey tubes and McClintock Lite tobacco.
Of course I started to save a few bucks, have three smokers in the house and we consumed 4 packs a day, here in NY state that cost me about 20+ dollars a day, 600.00 a month.
After a few packs of the MYO's I did realize the real benefits was the superior taste of the cigs.
So I got better tasting smokes, a few bucks in my pocket to buy beers with, and found a new web site with lots of good stuff.

Another newbie here,

I actually have been lurking since the Yessmoke fiasco and been MYO for about 6-8 mos. Thanks for all the info provided.

Now for a question, Has anybody had any experience with the Top stuffing machine? I'm looking for a back-up for "Big Blue". (possibly a replacement)

My friend used that one, becasue he can't quite put together $50 for big blue. I'm getting him one for his birthday though. The top stuffer is cool for a hand stuffer. I tried using his. It's a good hand stuffer, but it's hard to use after using the supermatic for so long.

What I was looking for is info on the Top-O-Matic,(I think that's what it is called, the Top version of the Supermatic.)

Thanks for the info on the hand stuffer though. Looks like something I could keep in my glovebox in case of "Emergency" I'' check them out when I hit the tobacco store this weekend.

Oh, yes, I heard of that one. A few people on here talked about it. I think it's about $30. The supermatic is about $40 now. Maybe that's why they lowered their price. I think it's very compatable; you just don't get the name Premier Supermatic.

Thanks Donut,

I've used Lil'Brown and had no problems (they have the best price on the machine)
