Hey all. My dad has decided he is going to push the seizure of his Camels in the Nov 2004 DHL raid as far as he can. He has been pushing the buttons of every fed organization he can. He is currently in contact with our congressman Ray Lahood.
He has demanded that he be told why his personal mail was illegally seized without a search warrant, and if it was legal, to be told under what law the seizure was made.
He has offered to pay any fees, taxes, or penalties that the federal government wants to impose just to get an answer. But they have not given him any information.
He is retired and is spending every minute of the day calling people and pushing buttons. He is trying to force them to take action to see what will happen if this makes it to court.
I'm sure he would appreciate any info you all could give him, or any words of encouragement.
He is an AOL user and can be reached at the address DKMorris42.
Thanks,
Dougson |

Awesome.
I just found that letter in my mailbox and then I found this topic. Although it seem to be abandoned, I will ask - what to do now?
I live in MA and recently, on 1st of July, 2008, state tax was raised - now a pack of cigs is around $8. Obviously, I am not going to encourage such thing and I want to have my cigarettes for some reasonable price.
I used to order them at 4cigarettes.net, usually 4 cartons/month. But about 2 month ago I ordered 8 cartons in two transactions. I guess, this is the main reason.
So now 1 carton of my last order of 4 is being held in JFK.
I can't figure out what to do - either stop ordering cigarettes and buy nicotine patches (F. Y., state tobacco tax) or continue ordering like 2 cartons a month. And will they bill me for all taxes I avoided?
I really need an advise of someone knowledgeable here. Please! |
