I'm new here and doing price comparisons on smoke.
I found habanapremium.com to be really reasonable when you buy in bulk.
Iceberg $10.72 lb when you buy 12 or more.
Midnight Special $5.19 6oz. when you buy 12 or more
People's Pride $10.72 lb.
Stoker's 10.72
I don't know what their normal tobacco runs, I smoke menthol.
Also, pipesandcigars.com seems to be pretty reasonable.
Now can anybody tell me if they've ordered from either of these places?
The last thing I want to do when trying to convince my hubby to switch is to get ripped off!

I buy mine local, have never ordered over the net, so can't be much help.
Midnight special contributes to the MSA, so for me they are out.
I don't smoke menthol, but have been using Stocker light for a year now and like it, The price you quoted for a pound is $4 less then I pay local, so, if the company is legit its an excellent price!
Welcome to MYO. We are here to help if you need us. |

Just got my Supermatic II today via fedex. Im extremely happy with it after using hand stuffer for few weeks. Got it off ebay for 25.50 shipped. Came with box of tubes and 2 cigarette cases 1 free tin one from the seller. Been trying out few different tobaccos.
Midnight special - good smoke kinda leave tobacco taste in throat but better then the chemical taste camels leave 4.81 6oz
Hi-Val - ok smoke, prob wont buy again unless they are out of MS too dry and not much flavor, may have been old stock $4.81 6 oz
Bugler - little harsh but pretty good Ill buy if not near tobbaco shop $1.20 oz since found in about all gas stations
tried 3 tubes
twister - ok tubes filter is a bit shorter then others so hand stuffer had problems with them but seem to be good quality $2.55
Bugler - good tubes had no problems with them $3.11
premier- ok hard to tell since fedex crushed the box free with machine
local shop sells zigzags for 3 boxes for $7 ill try them next unless someone can talk me out of them
already have my brother converted and my sisters boyfreind, just gotta get them to buy own machine. Extremely happy so far. Prices are from Smokers Friendy Parkersburg, West Virginia |

I am thinking about rolling my own, never done it before, but always wanting to save money, since my husband and I smoke. Would anyone be willing to send me a couple for a small fee, like something similiar to a camel light taste before I go ahead and buy all the stuff for it???? I would greatly apprechiate it.. You can email me at badmojomn@juno.com I am wanting to try the "taste" before purchasing.......thanks much

With 2 people smoking in your house you could save a Ton of cash!
A Premier Supermatic will cost you around $50.00. There are several places where you can buy small sample bags (I am not aware which ones they are. but someone will come up with it).
Good luck. There are a lot of Us "MYOers" on this board. Let us know if you need any tips or tricks. |

Hey Zippy
What kind are you trying to most resemble? Want to send me a couple, just in an envelope or something? |

| you can buy 1 oz samples of different kinds of tobacco at American Thrust Tobacco, http://www.americanthrusttobacco.com, they are only $1, shipping is 5.00 for orders up to $9.99 so if you order 9 samples, each 1 oz sample will cost $1.56, an ounce of tobacco makes a little over a pack of smokes so even if you don't like some kinds it's not a big loss, there's hardly anything you can get for that little these days. Get an injection machine, it pays itself off after 2 cartons of cigarettes. If you don't like SYO, you can always sell your used machine on ebay, I've noticed they go fast and sell for around $30 (for premier supermatics). Or you can start off by getting the excel which supposedly works well too but apparently is all plastic so it may not last as long, but it is cheaper (around $20+shipping). |

Jenny:
I have been told that using Stroker Light tobacco, combined with Gambler tubes will resemble the taste of Marlboro Lights. I wouldn't know though since I use that combo (or zigzag tubes) but have not actually tasted a Marlboro light in almost 2 years.
One thing that YOU MUST remember. NOTHING will mimic the taste of what you are used too. You will need to experiment.
Like I tell my wife all the time. Half of the fun of an adventure is just getting there! |

Sorry all for the late response.
We were on vacataion !! It's been years since we have done that. Okay I got the Excel right before we were to leave and OMG I LOVE it ! I still like my Premier Supermatic and will hold onto it as a backup, but the Excel is SO much faster, at least for me anyway. I paid around $32 for it and that was with shipping so I think I got a pretty good deal. Man I love this place
Oh, now I remember what I wanted to ask you all. Can anyone direct me to a place to buy/try some flavored tobacco ? I have read of a vanilla flavored but can't remember where and it may even have been pipe tobacco and not RYO tobacco.
TIA
