Quote: I think I read here some where that the nicotine from the rolling tobacco can be absorbed into the blood stream.
How is that possible when nicotine is formed by burning tobacco? We don't burn the tobacco before we inject it in the tubes. It would be nice though if you could get a nicotine fix by holding/touching tobacco. I'd keep some on my desk all day. Why would we try to avoid nicotine anyway? We're smokers, and hardcore proud ones at that. |

Tom,
Someone posted that here!! I was just questioning it
They said to wear gloves, but i understand what you are saying.
We may be smokers but a nicotine OD can lead to death. |

4. I sit down at a table and use a paper plate, latex gloves and mix the tobacco up while making my smokes and watching the lies being broadcast to us on Network Television News. The process takes the edge off of me and I tend to swear a lot less than I used to when watching the Nightly News. Be sure to wear the gloves as the nicotine will enter your system through your skin like a transdermal patch and can cause side effects. (nicotine overdose?) |

| Yipee!!! I ordered my Premier Supermatic for $44.95 at Smokersoutlet.com last night. I can't wait to become one of the RYO gang. I'm trying the Midnight tobacco 6oz @ $4.59 for to replace my good old Winstons. Wish me luck. I hope this works. |

Welcome to the world of MYO!!!!
Remember. Read the instructions, then re-read them. It will save you a lot of frustration.
We are here to help. Consider us other MYOer's your personal online, beginners support group.
I also have used Midnight special combined with "light tubes", then switched to Gamble light with light tubes.
It's up to your own personal taste, but it seemed to be a bit less harsh, and packed a bit easier.
I am actually working on a project to hook my machine to an old treadle sewing machine base, don't really know it it will work yet (gearing problems to be worked out), but if it does........
I WILL BE SOOOOOO STINKING RICH!!!!!!!!! |

Me thinks that practice will help more better
When I started this thread, I was checking for an alternative to the premades and to see how far the MYO has come.----Last time I had tried it was when Laredo came out (long time ago).
I've bought the supermatic and as been said --- It's a good machine.
Trying to find the Mixin's that fit you best will wind up a poke and hope.
I was lucky and found a suitable smoke with only trying three tobaccos.
As Redliner said --- The Gambler light works out to be a good smoke.
When you get your machine ---pay attention to the packing slip and don't try to stuff cigar quanity into the machine I didn't get but 7.5 packs out of my first six ounces --should of been a carton.
This forum has helped me on a number of questions on sources and M.O.s.
There's a good gang that hangs out here and they will help when questions or advice is needed.
Heres Wishing Ya luck ---Just remember If all else fails ---Read the directions Or check back here

LOL, I still only get 7-8 packs.......when I use a shag type tobbacco, I get pretty close when I use a normal cut, say McClintock.
I finally found London Export, tastes much like Drum and BaliShag, a bit cheaper than Drum, and definately better quality. |

I usually get around 8 packs except with McClintock which I get about 9. I like the McClintock best anyway so I have been sticking with that. |
