| Hey, I know there's a bunch of people's recommendations for tobacco brands all over this board, so I decided to start one for the topic alone so its easier for people to find. So far I've only tried Bugler Tobacco, which seems to have a very similar taste to a Camel. I'm considering ordering Midnight Special next, seeing as it costs a bit less on http://www.smokersoutletonline.com/catalog/, and I've also heard it tastes similar to Marlboro Reds. Can anyone who's tried it give me a review? Thanks! |

Hi JmP,
I didn't care for the midnight special too much. Smokable-but not as good as other tobacco's I've tried. It had a bit of a "licorice" smell to it. I'm still experimenting myself-so far I liked the tobacco best I bought from cigarettetobacco.com |

| If you are interested in sampling a variety of tobacco, take a look at Americathrusttobacco.com. They sell samples of all varieties of tobacco in a 1oz bag for a buck. I orederd quit a few different kinds to find out which ones I would enjoy smoking the best b/4 I bought a large amount of one kind. |

| I'd like to order a bunch of those samples, but I'm only 17 and do not have a credit card (and my mom sure as hell wouldn't let me use hers to order tobacco)... so I can only order from websites that accept PayPal. I'm really just looking for a decent tobacco that tastes similar to a Camel or a Marlboro Red, and Bugler is pretty damn good, but all the other brands seem to be cheaper. How's that Golden Harvest brand? |

I am not being rude or trying to give you a lecture but i wished I could go back in time to your age were I could have.
I am pretty sure that no one will sell you tobacco at that age.. |

Just my 2 cents worth. I have used the Drum Halfzshag and McClintock Full, Light and now Virginia blends. I was smoking Dunhills and found out I like the flavor better with MYO. It's pointless to try and recreate a brand like Marlboro or Dunhill as they use many types and blends of tobacco's as well as chemicals to create a standard taste. My advice is to try something a little bit more expensive than grunt grade Bugler which I tried years ago, and move on to getting a better quality tobacco. While It may cost almost twice as much to buy the better tobacco, you will find it much more enjoyable than the cheap stuff.
Also, I am not trying to be negitive here but I agree that if your young (17 lets say) it would be a good thing to not take up the smoking habit. If you think things are bad for smokers now, imagine how bad there going to be in 10-20 years. An example might be failing a company drug test because you smoke or not being able to get health insurance. Things are only going to get worse for smokers, as we are a minority. Already we are starting to see smoking bans in the EU. Italy has banned smoking in public places as has Ireland. I think the day will come when you will get a DWS (kinda like a DUI) while smoking and driving your own car. |

| Calman, since we are all going to die from smoking anyway, perhaps when the time comes for the smoking nazis to finish us off, we could draw just enough breath to blast their butts with a spare AK laying around..... We need to get more militant here, before the do gooders get a foothold like Italy or Ireland........ |

| I've been smoking for 4 years now, and I didn't join these forums to be told to "quit while i can", so chill out. I'm here to talk about alternatives to being a slave to big tobacco and to the US government, such as MYO, which I have recently took up. |
