This was sent to Glen Beck and associates today, please do something similar.Thanks.

Hello,

Why don't you hit on the MASSIVE Tobacco taxes Obama signed into law during his first weeks in office?. Let's say that 20% are smokers, for argument, then how does Obama have the nuts to say he cut taxes for 95% of America. There is no math in the world (save Obama math) that could add up to savings for 95% of us.. I know ( and am only 1 of many) people who have seen their (media blitz so called unsavory habit) costs increase close to a thousand dollars a year in federal tax alone. The State taxes on tobacco nearly triples that in most states. What other LEGAL products are taxed at over 500% of cost to manufacture?

As most smokers are less fortunate than others how on God's earth can one smoker support this Pres?

I hope you will pursue this as a HUGE issue with voters and let the stigma now assigned to smokers be a thing of the past. You know this is all about the progressives getting their way.Let Freedom Prevail!

Thanks,

Just for the record --- The tax on my tobacco and tubes (RYO) were increased by 2400% which drove me to the patch.

I don't go to the drug store for my patch ------- It's right outside my back door.
Instead of collecting a reasonable tax they will collect NONE from this guy.
The people on this forum have worn out keyboards trying to fight the bans, laws, property rights and taxes that have been imposed, only to find it fall on deaf ears. I wish you luck on finding someone in position to help.

I will use the patch and the ballot

J.C.

PS Anyone know if Glen Beck is a smoker? non-smoker? anti? ranti?

I doubt that he smokes but I have heard him half heartedly mention smoking within a list of choices we are losing. Got to remember, the public has been thoroughly propagandized against tobacco so I figure Glen doesn't want to upset the sheeple for the time being. He's got bigger fish to fry like educating the public about the progessive movment that is now prevalent in both parties.

Progressives believe that people can be molded into being 'ideal citizens,' that bigger government is needed to make this happen. To achieve bigger government progressives need to subvert the Constitution and the Bill of Rights via interpretation or claim it is outdated. They need to do this because those documents were designed to keep government in check. Big government = less choice and to them, less choice = a more perfect citizen. The name "progressive" sounds forward thinking, but they are nothing but socialists in sheep's clothing. In my book, all of them are traitors to a Constitution they swore to uphold.

As usual, you are right on the money, Pete. I have one thing to add. "Progressives" have no sense of history. If they did, it might dawn on them that every experiment in socialism has become an historic failure. Maggie Thatcher hit the nail on the head, when describing the failure of socialism in Great Britain, "The problem with socialism is that sooner or later, you run out of spending other people's money."

Sent to Congressman Harry Mitchell (5th District Arizona) today:

Representative Mitchell, 02-06-2010

Re: Arizona Economy

If taxes on tobacco are reduced, many people will start buying again from local businesses, growing the Arizona economy. Many are strapped from the oppressive Federal and State tobacco taxes and smoking bans in bars and restaurants.

It is a choice between higher and higher tobacco taxes to Arizona or a call to help local businesses grow.High Tobacco taxes and bans have hurt our economy.

The health of our state is at stake, and I know that my suggestion will help Arizona in the short and long term by increasing the spending of 100% of the smoking population.

Here all of us smokers sit and it seems to me that the Big picture is...Why is it that when all the lawsuites over cigarettes were settled, that our Government did not force standards for All the tobacco companies. So the tobacco we smoke is pure??? I had a brand name cigarette that was from France, shipped from the USA tobacco company. It was so mellow and smooth it brought tears to my eyes. Thinking the Americans get the crap tobbacco with all the additives???? All the 500 + additives in cigarettes remain! Now we have flame retardant on the paper of cigarettes!!! One person loked it up and said it is glue that is used for carpet. Any of you notice the difference? The code is FSC this is another sad situation. Our government does not protect us our right to have Green cigarettes!!! What are we to do? Oh just quit! would be lost. I pray to put light on this injustice. For the remaining smokers. Give us the pure tobbaco, no longer allowing crap to be put into our cigarettes or for that matter all things we Americans consume. Standards that protect us all! [/b]

You can have pure tobacco! - make your own - I have been doing so for 4 years.

FSC - what's that?
Just kidding....I've never touched one of those and never will.
The horror stories of reactions to FSC paper are astounding!
Just like the terror stories of Chantix - 'they' aren't changing that drug either.

Make your own cigarettes!
Start here: (injector machines are the key to sticking with MYO - I like the Topomatics)
http://www.ryomagazine.com/injectors.htm

One can make a pack of 'pre-made looking' cigarettes in less than 5 minutes. Standard filter and all.... (it takes longer than that to drive to a convenience store for a pack of smokes)

And once you figure out the cost difference and lack of chemicals and FSC paper - you'll hit yourself upside the head Very Happy

Be responsible, make your own 'Green' Cigarettes.
Wishing and Hoping for the Government to do something is always a losing proposition.
