| IMO, removing that thread is a manipulation of reality that is no better than anti airbrushing cigarettes, cigars, and pipes from historic photos. Do we really want to go down that road? |

| I actually don't censor too many posts - I just delete the trolls that post spam and such nonsense. But after re-reading the home page, I do agree it's probably too negative. I don't know anything about Speakeasy, and certainly wouldn't want to anger anyone over there. And I haven't heard from Bill since he showed me how to edit the forum, so I don't think he would even notice! My plan was to keep posting stuff on the home page, but never got around to it. If anyone here would like to post something (news, opinion, etc.) by all means please send it over! |

Carlos, you own this site now - not Bill.
Would be nice if you wrote your feelings on the matter instead, in your own words.
All these sites have cross posters, sure there are personality issues and stuff that apparently happened 'way in the past' between these sites.
Heck, speakeasy isn't even run by the same people it was when Bill had his issue with them.
They aren't around anymore, and neither is he......
I don't like that little write up he did, I'm not saying nix it but put it where it belongs - in an appropriate spot in history - because that's what it is - History....
It's doing nothing and probably harming the cause we are all fighting. Any newbie floating by here most likely reads it and goes - WTH *f*. The antis are probably jumping for joy....
I think it's time to move on - the past is the past - things happened, people got upset, people got their panties in a bunch....why on earth are people subjected to old rehashings when they go onto the home page?
BTW, I never go on the home page either - come straight in here - I thought the letter was archived - IMHO, It should be. |

God damnit lib99. You come in here and start stirring the pot, dredging up the past and creating all kinds of controversy.
Now we've got people buzzing and posting and discussing issues of solidarity among smokers....you are just no end of trouble. |

Well, if anyone actually made OFFLINE friends by leaving "non-vulgar posts" on this forum over the past 10 years, good for them. I hope they found the love of their lives on here as well.
Sorry for my sarcasm (and yes, dat latta point is meant to be mainly sarcasm). But with all due respect, this forum hasn't changed much if someone thinks writing is a serious part of a person. I'm sure anyone can write darn well. But he/she can be a big liar too personality-wise.
If I meet a person who's a big liar, I don't give a flying F how good he/she writes. The personality says more about a person than his/her writing.
And don't tell me how wriitng defines a person's personality. Dat's actually true particularly in formal writing. I just brought up a point where anyone can write good in even informal writing, but they can still be professional liars about themselves and their lives.
If you don't like the way a person writes, don't read his/her posts. Simple as dat. I can only laugh if you think my writing defines me as a whole person. |

Is it me, or did Lib99s post just go up in smoke? LOL!!!!
If so, Carlos can delete my own post above this one.
EDIT: No, it's actually on the first page of this thread. |

WTF?
Jay - wherever you went to post after you called it quits here....please go back and pollute their forums with this non-sensical drivel. |

I'm sure you realize this was a sarcastic and somewhat back-handed compliment? |
