I I don't grow my own tobacco. I don't have a green thumb.
I was wondering just how the growers among us were cutting their tobacco for smoking and it dawned on me.
You get paper shredders that can cut 5 or more sheets of paper at a time and cut as fine as 1/32"
Have you guys considered this option?
I was searching for a fine cut shredder and I only found expensive models but I'm sure there are cheaper less powerful shredders that can make the same cut.

this is the one I found.

it only has a 1/16" cut but that would stuff or even roll just fine.

It cuts credit cards and staples so tobacco should be no problem.

Or maybe the Presto Salad shooter.

Hi -

Y'all should probably check out my new thread I just started called Grow Your Own Tobacco At Home, I think, it's here

http://www.smokinglobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3713

Salad shooters have been reported to work. Pasta cutters have been reported to work making shreds a little bit wide for cigs, which should be about 1 mm. Someone suggested using an angel hair attachment for the spaghetti cutter, but I haven't seen where anyone did that yet.

Paper shredders work, but also make wide shreds. You have to remove the roller on some, the paper guide on others.

There is an old tobacco shredder you can sometimes find on eBay called the Tech 1, about $100 is a reasonable price. It is a hand cranked machine with curved blades that need sharpening and is a little finicky to work with.
