| AMERICANTHRUSTTOBACCO.COM looks like a pretty cool site. It's tax paid in NY, so if you live in NY, that's the way to go. Rons, and cigarettes only are native senecas and each carry a few brands. Rons has bugler and zig zag, cigarettesonly.com has bugler, midnight special and my favorite gambler. I think I might start buying my tubes from a site like americanthrusttobacco, and tobacco from the senecas, becasue the stores I've been going to for years are frequently out of stock. I tell them about yesmoke and ask them to order more, but they just can't understand the hugh increase in the market of RYOT. |

I am wondering how long it may be before the tax a$$holes go after the RYO market... greedy bastards........ I want to say that loose tobacco (like the kind used to RYO was excluded from the MSA... so I know for sure we are safe there |

| Any recommendations for tobacco and tubes to duplicate Marlboro medium taste? How about Jester tobacco? |

I used store.pipesand cigars.com they have a good selection of MYO and RYO. Tom and Irishguy listed some good links early in this thread and I have learned alot. There are many good online shops with broad and knowledgeable selections.
Just got a new Supermatic II locally for $28. Anyway you cut it you will save money and experience new tobaccos which are better than the manufacturered smokes. I like good wines, so no reason not to try new smokes and its a good learning experience. There is alot of very good info online. |

Another smoker converted!!!
Convinced my father in law to go the stuff your own route!
I finally ordered the Premier Supermatic and while I was looking at the inventory my FIL caught an interest and told me to order the 100MM hand stuffer, 100mm tubes and McClintock light tobacco.
One less person will be paying this States taxes!
On a side note, I caught an interest in the Vera Cruz tubes. Has anyone tried these tubes? They are actually really nice looking! |

I bought the Supermatic and 3 bags of 14 oz tobacco, 6 boxes of filters last week, the order arrived two days later.
The first pack (and maybe the second) was a bit slow and some of the cigs were too tight or too loose, but after those experimental packs it's now a breeze. Can build a pack of 20 in 10 or 15 minutes.
The Premiere "light" filters don't seem light enough to my wife. So I think it's a matter of trying another filter brand and tobacco mix.
I'm using their two top selling tobaccos (can't recall names). Both are OK but I'll probably get a box of the sampler pouches (7 different tobaccos) next order. |

| The zig zag light tubes are a little lighter than the Premier tubes. They have more vents in them. Also, it sounds like your using bugler or top tobacco. That's too strong for most people if smoked alone. |

I recently bought a box of the Vera Cruz tubes. They are nice. I like the design, and the quality is top notch. They are a tobacco brown, with Vera Cruz and Nocturne labeling and a black and gold band.
Also I want to re-ask a question from earllier. Tom, have you actually tried to use the Rizla cigarette sized tubes on your Supermatic? You mentioned the tubes earlier and I really like them, but had heard that they didn't fit on the Supermatics nozzle. |

Thanks Irishguy,
I'm going to place an order for them soon. I really like the look of them!
While we are at a Q & A session, has anyone ever tried "flavored" tobacco? I recently noticed a Internet vendor selling cherry and vanilla flavors. I'm not sure how I would like it but thought it might be a nice change when I'm hanging around my cigar buddies? I usually go for the tiny Tatianna flavored cigars when I'm with them.
My thought is Marry up the Vera Cruz tubes with the flavored tobacco and who knows, it could be a nice change of pace? |
