I hear and read this a lot. What did you want him to succeed at?

I just wanted him to be a good president worthy of people's respect. I never could respect George W. Bush because he seemed like Bozo the Clown. I was actually embarrassed by his lack of intellectual prowess and apparent idiocy. Maybe he wasn't really an idiot, but he certainly appeared to be one.

Then there was Bill Clinton, who couldn't keep his pants zipped no matter what. Not that other presidents didn't cheat on their wives, but at least they had enough sense to avoid a public spectacle.

I didn't really expect Obama to single-handedly fix the economy or the health care system. I just wanted him to serve with dignity. I was hoping to feel included in whatever solutions he came up with to improve the country.

I hoped Obama would take a teamwork approach where everyone had a part to play in turning the economy around, but you can't be part of the team when the president throws you out of the stadium in the first minute of the game.

There is nothing Obama could do (or not do) in the next 3 years or so that would change your mind? You've already made this decision less than a year into his first term?

Certainly there are things that can happen to change my mind. As it stands right now, though, I'll be voting for him. If another party puts up a candidate that wants to continue the policies of George Bush, why in the world would I vote for them. I've voted repub, dem, and independent. I can't vote single issues, but who I think can do the best for all of America. I voted for the first Bush, and almost voted for the second.
