I'm told Gambler Tube Cut is nasty stuff.

do you stuff or roll?

I can easily imagine how this Gambler could be outed as crap when I'm able to accomplish an alternative, most immediately I'm gonna go with TGS Natural and Three Sails, try those as standalones then venture onto creating those blends you had in your thread.

In larger size bag the rez store here sells Gambler damn near PERIOD. I think they have smaller bags of McClintock. Theres no selection, we really have been trampled underfoot. Early flags in this nation even had the words: Don't, Tread, Upon and Me on them, today's flag would read "just do whatever the fakk you want to me".

Things were going pretty well when I could drive 1/4 mile and get that Zen one pound bag once every 5-6 weeks. I was so happy to be spending $22 month (with 300 paper pack) instead of the $150/month I was spending on Marlboros.

Plus I was smoking less. Having to roll rather than just open a box and remove a cig.....you know.

I really suspect that a big part of what motivated me to wondering if there were Pipe Cut alternatives was basically knowing that this Gambler is crap.

Crap at least compared to alternative(s).....

I roll, using what I think at least are rice papers, they're very sheer....300 pack branded either "Elements" or (when I can't get those) "Smoking".....nice slow burn.

I would stuff were I able to get ahold of a good cigarette machine. You mentioned Top-O-Matic which actually was what I began researching most immediately after seeing your thread that first time and has resulted in a Top-O-Matic machine totally being "on my radar" right now.

I recall reading somewhere that Florida was a state in which TGS was available for sale in stores but Florida is a big state, maybe these stores are not near you.

What do you mean when you say "The Good Stuff and The Good Stuff branded tobaccos"?

They sell tobacco under other brandnames?. Ramback I guess is D&S? Who makes Three Sails??

I really wanna try that Three sails bcuz you said it'd be what God would smoke and I am born under the sign of Leo and we think we're Gods so I expect to like Three Sails.

Three sails is a pipe cut tobacco that is actually a Shag cut.
Shag cut = very fine long ribbons. (like Drum)
To me it looks like it would roll well.
Three Sails is a British Virgina so feel free to do as many James Bond impersonations as you like while you smoke it.

To save costs I blend Three Sails with The good stuff Light 50/50.

re: The Good Stuff brand.
I said The Good Stuff brand because people ask what I smoke and I say " the good stuff with some..."
They then ask "the good stuff?"
I then have to explain that the tobacco brand = The good stuff, it's the name of the tobacco, it's on the bag.
My wife insist on doing air quotes when she makes fun of my tobacco.
She tells people. Oh yea he smokes the "Good Stuff" Rolling Eyes
One of her friends was under the impression that it was code for Pot.

I was sitting outside just getting ready to light up and my wife's friend comes out and claims to be very stressed about work " You mind if take a hit?" she asks. I say what! No and offer her a full smoke.
No she says " Id be too messed up to drive home"
I had to ask what she was talking about.
" I just want a hit of the "Good Stuff" Doing the air quotes exactly where my wife does them.
I had to go get the bag of tobacco and show her that we are talking tobacco here not Pot.

I still tease her when she comes over. Nice girl she is going to make somebody a good ex wife someday. Very Happy

Well you got my curiosity up so I got my Cracker Jar full of Three Sails down and stuffed a smoke, broke the filter off and smoked it bare ass. (the smoke not me) man this is still a smooth smoke.
you can draw it deep and hold it without feeling the need to cough.
conclusion, great for rolling. Exclamation

Check out the other European tobaccos at D&R

All of them fine cut or Shag cut Very Happy

Now check the price. Gambler Tube Cut sells 8. oz for about 22$
Three Sails = 23$ for 14 oz.
Like Spence from Sham Wow would say, this stuff sells itself.

Same thing I'd have done had I been told you were smoking the good stuff, and especially were that stated to me with air quotes. Totally the female's conclusion would have been my own, thus can I imagine her disappointment when the reality of no THC present....in this "Good Stuff"....was revealed. I feel like taking her out for an ice cream and a blunt....giving her a chance to vent.

OH HELL YEAH on the link to Trish's and the the Three Sails & Ramback bags....of course the others from your blends are hanging around there too except for The Good Stuff of course.

On that subject, I seem to smoke "Light" cigarettes but I'm inclined to go with the TGS Natural just because I want the most additive free smoke possible. Would 'Natural' prove too heavy for one accustomed to 'Lights'?
Of course in your blends in that other thread you listed TGS LIght and not Natural.

I'll pick up a few of the various from Trish's then a few of The Good Stuff and after I get them I will not have to drive to that desolate Rez again to give those Indians who's cup already runneth waaay over with Gambling money....any more of my money. And I won't have to smoke this (less impressive by the moment) Gambler anymore.

Wouldn't bother me doing business with the Indians if they grew their own tobacco. and it were good. But they don't and its not. I resent the feeling of being hostage to them to get tobacco.

When you mention Ramback (Turkish) in your blends, I see Rambacks Balkan Blend, Gold Blend and just "Blend" on the Trish site. Which one of those Rambacks do you refer to?

This is the mix I'm most immediately interested in trying:
50% Three Sails (British Virginia)
40% The Good Stuff Light
10% Ramback (Turkish)
GIZEH Silver Tip Charcoal filter tube and the Tar Gard

But I will get the fixins for the other blends you mentioned as well

You try yet any of the Cockstrong or WinterGold I see under Specialty tobaccos there?

Well TGS light and Natrual are very close.

As for Cockstrong I believe it's a very strong (robust) smoke
Wintergreen is flavored with oils of wintergreen and the jury is still out on it's toxicity so I'm shying away from it. I do know oils of wintergreen is used to flavor toothpaste and mouthwash so I would suspect it has a mint taste.
As you know eating or drinking something is one thing but burning it and inhaling the smoke it creates is something completely different.

I found this on wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methyl_salicylate

For tons of info and opinions on D&R tobacco read this forum.
I can't join this forum for some strange reason but the info I gained from it is top notch.

Lil Brown's is apparently outta the Light TGS....at this moment anyway, will no allow the addition of any to a cart so that solves that, Natural becomes my base for blending from.

May just be on my account, the inability to add to cart, as there was an age verification issue, I am supposed to call or some such thing, email driver's license.

Really the hoops, the effort that one is made to go to just to get some tobacco, a crop that grows from the Earth and has been used by man for quite awhile now, are so absurd that is actually almost "funny"...In a Twilight Zone sorta way, not funny haha of course...I suppose its more surreal than funny.

Thanks for the link, a glance at just one thread there and its obvious it'll be very educational, that forum as has "talking" with you. The thread I looked at led me to American Thrust where they have 1 oz. samples of some of the D&R tobaccos ($3.00 each) and others. Of course Trish site has some if not all of these in 3.5 oz at $8.95.

American Thrust just refers to Ramback as "Turkish", not specifying which Ramback it is....Ramback Balkan Blend, Gold Blend or just "Blend". Which one is it and which one of those Rambacks are what you use?

If its unknown I'd just go with the Gold Blend.

Found immediately: suggestion that Two Timer Gold is essentially just Two Timer mixed with Windsail and Rowland has a chocolate aroma (taste?), which is intriguing.

Thinking it through crackerjack and in light of (I though it was your, in another thread or earlier in this one) mention that you used to work on boats and had sailed the world...along the way trying all sorts of tobaccos....(forgive me if that was someone else) I can see no better solution than for you to make (one more?) journey, around the world, on a boat so that you can gather a whole bunch of tobacco for yourself and me.

I'll try here to embed a video for inspiration. Please listen to the entire video and please listen closely to the words. If you will do so I am confident that, after you listen, you will see that this is the most sensible...maybe the only real....
