I went there about a year ago, and was amazed at what I saw.
I go to the first city on the East Coast (that I know of, to ban smoking in bars) and what do I find but half the bars I go to unofficially allow smoking! Why go through all the trouble, Bloomberg?! Just to start a worldwide trend, then just forget about it in your own backyard?*
Don't get me wrong, I was *extremely* excited to go to several bars in NYC where smoking was just OK again. It just rubs me the wrong way that a city that made news worldwide with their smoking bans would be one of the first to have almost entirely ignored the rules they themselves created!
*note: keep up the good work on not enforcing those laws, bloomberg - gives NYC a little bit of the character back that it once used to have... |

It sure is. Maybe this sleeping giant is waking up for a second time. |
