Make sure you evenly distribute the tobacco in the chamber to avoid the gaps. Try putting a tad more tobacco in the left end of the chamber, it might help fill the tube all the way in. As Tom had reiterated, make sure you are using the correct setting on your machine.

Here's a couple of links you might find useful:

www.ryomagazine.com
http://syo.dalrun.com/

The first has reviews of stuff and the second is a forum that talks about different tobaccos, machines, retailers, tubes, etc. Good luck!

After this YS seizure I have just had it with cigarette tax's...which is just outtasight and climbing. I had been taking a monthly drive to a nearby state where I could get Marlboro Lights for $25 per carton. An extra hour roundtrip every month for 4 cartons.

Then for a few months I ordered from YS, and that was nice and no extra driving. Always on time. That is apparently over.

When you think about the amount of tax's paid for 1 carton of cigs---it is just incredible. Its just 6 oz of tobacco and some paper.

So, I'll just buy a good rolling machine online and now they will get very little tax money from me for cigarettes.

Tobacco's??? There I got alot to learn. Just read about midnight special and Bugler combo coming close to Marlboro Lights. Like to know more about blends and other experiences with making your own.

I didn't really notice them on my first read. Checked them out and alot of great info to read. I plan to be making my own by New Years or before. I think I will start with the Midnight Special tobacco and in time adjust to make my own blend. Thanks. Do the tubes come with filters? And which filter/tube would come close to Marlboro Light's? Thanks again.

Yes the tubes come with filters. You can find tubes in full flavor, light, 100's and unfiltered.

One thing you will notice is that RYO tubes are a bit bigger in diameter than commercial tubes. You will not find one that exactly resembles a Marlboro light, but any light tube should do you fine. The 100 mm tubes do have a longer filter than the king size. I have found that a decent quality full flavor tobacco in a full flavor tube is actually milder than a Marlboro light. The flavor is so much better when you make your own.

The rizza cigarette size tubes are the same size as a reg cigarette tube. They are thinner with a slightly larger filter, but most other tubes are a bit fatter. The supermatic makes rizza fine though on the smallest setting.

So those new Rizla tubes do work on your Supermatic? I had heard that they wouldn't fit on the nozzle. I just got three boxes of the tubes yesterday but not the injector, luckily they fit ok on my old handstuffer. I really like the tubes. I am seriously considering buying a Supermatic soon, it would be nice if these tubes do in fact work with it.

Just ordered some Mclintok Light and Premier Light Tubes to replace my Marlbor Lights...won't be the same, but might be better. I'll keep you posted. Excluding the machine comes to 97 cents a pack, shipping included. My big experiment. I'll keep you posted, JK

Hi all....I used to order from yesmoke but now it seems that ordering duty free cigarettes will be out of the question for a while I've been thinking of doing the roll your own deal....but I've always hated the way roll your own smokes look like joints. Do the machines that everyone talks about here really work and produce a nice straight cigarette with filter and all and no mess? I really don't want to be paying $1.10 in taxes (oregon) for a pack of cigs...yesmoke was great but I was always afraid they'd find a way to crack down on it Sad. Or maybe I should take this as a hint and try to quit. I can't afford to spend $100 a month to support a pack a day habit.

Yes it really works. When we are talking about making your own we mean injecting cigarette tobacco into a premade filter tube.

Follow the links I posted above, they contain a wealth of information on the subject. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.
