| The Corpus Christi TX (my hometown) city council passed an ordinance banning smoking in all resaurants today by a vote of 9-0. There was strenuous objection, but the ordinance passed overwhelmingly. Many people are unhappy and hopefully this will at least lead to greater public activism against our overbearing city government. |

| Yes, with a permit of course. I wonder if I can get a permit for my smokes? It turns out there is going to be another vote on this issue next Tuesday before this becomes law. Chances don't look good though when the vote was 9-0. On the bright side these guys are getting blasted by alot of people, maybe we can change a mind or five. |
