I'm in a quandry on what to do. I work for the local government in Columbia, and we were sent a note on Monday saying there was to be no smoking on City property. Fine...I smoked outside away from the door anyway, but I can go across the road, no big deal. I now have to dodge two lanes of traffic. I got wind today that next week, it's going to get worse in that there will be no smoking at the job sites, and the supervisors are being burdened with the task of writing tickets to their staff if they are caught doing so.
I've been there almost 20 years. How can they do this? What can I do? How can I fight this? How can they be banned if cigarettes are legal? It makes no sense to me at all. |

To change the rules you could get a majority of the employess to sign a letter asking or the rule to be changed. If that does not work go to a city councilman and see if he will put some pressure on the administration.
Best off, just leaving and going to work somewhere else. |

| Agreed. When they see so many workers leaving cause of that rule they will most likely change it. |
