I'm often chided by fellow tobacco users, even here, for being far too radical, and told I'll never make any progress with my attitude. Cricket used to get the same crap. To that, I say, Bullshit. My blood has been boiling for many years now since the Nazis went past the breaking point. Every time I think to myself that perhaps my critics are right-all I have to do is read some vitriolic bile from a brainwashed swine like the following, and my undying hatred is rekindled. THIS particular individual happens to be a 'convenient conservative'("I believe in freedom of association, private property rights, and removal of government intrusion-EXCEPT for things I don't like personally"), but their are just as many liberals that fill the bill.

From a blog:

Let the smokers kill themselves. They should have to sign a policy when they buy a pack of cigarettes that no isurance will pay for lung cancer, mouth cancer or throat cancer treatment. Like Democrats claim and so does their cigarette smoking leader Obama about Abortion. It will save money by them dying off at an early age.

I used to have compassion, but they legislated it and taxed it out of existence.

hmm, interesting blog...i wonder if next they will want an insurance wavier signed that people will only eat healthy, low fat foods or the company wont pay for any medical expenses related to obesity (ex: gastric bypass, lap band, clogged arteries, heart attack, stroke, etc.)...or perhaps a wavier against excessive drinking (liver/kidney failure, etc.)

or perhaps stupid people should keep their mouths shut and opinions to themselves. yes, i like that idea... =)

Kim,
anything you do may affect your health ----- try eating too many donuts

As far as the attitude ------------ after 54years of smoking it has affected mine to the point of "Reverend Darkseid" ( good one Pat, I had the same notion)
Outside of ditto marks the Rev has saved me a bunch of typing. Wink ---Thanks

So does forcing your personal beliefs on others. Stuff it and your BS business link where the sun never shines.

I used to be a nice person, still am for the most part, but it's been killed off by your type. Dark is right, this is a WAR.

Yep. I also wonder how many of these morons have ever bothered to dig into the statistics from the early 20th century. Virtually everybody smoked, yet most of these cancers were almost unheard of. The usual response, when presented with these facts, is "well, they didn't know how to diagnose it then" or some such BS. Apparently all the people with these undiagnosed conditions were too stupid to ever figure out they were sick, as well. And almost *nobody* bothers to actually read! They just accept whatever statistics they're fed from the idiot box, even though they change from one month to the next. Then there's the "well, other diseases killed everybody at the age of 40 back then". Really? I can believe my own eyes or the crap presented as factual today.

There's a cancer epidemic, but it has nothing to do with tobacco use. Meanwhile, all those who profit from the fear salesmen get richer and richer...

As for me, I don't give these bastards an inch (though to be fair, I rarely even see them in person). My best suggestion is to never be defensive. Stay on the offensive and never give them a chance.

Thus endeth my rant for the day. Wink
