Well, I just went to one of the best hematologists anywhere and I thought you would like to hear what he had to say (and hold your reaction until you reach the end of the story). I had a bloodclot in my leg in 2006. I ended up having to go to the emergency room and spent two days in the hospital while they did a bunch of tests, tests, tests. Finally they let me out. I have had to take blood thinner for two years and get my blood tested just about every week (te$ted...it's expensive).

Every step of the way, the health workers have declared that it was smoking that caused my blood clot. Smoking! SMOKING! OK, alright already. I stopped but you know they just keep on banging that old drum.

One said that I should go to a hematologist to get the final word on what was up with my blood. Gad, did I go through every single question that he could ask. Spent an hour and a half with me, gave me a pretty good physical exam, drew more blood (I swear it was 55 gallons) and on and on. I will get the particulars later BUT I asked him THE question: did smoking cause my bloodclot? What do you suppose the answer was?

No. The answer was no, smoking did not cause my blood clot. This is from an Expert. Jesus. There is something in me that is really really pissed. Why? I suppose it's because I was lied to, people took advantage of my being scared, and one more bullsh*t thing was piled on smoking as the cause.

Why is it that so many people work overtime to take away the stuff you like to do, and force you to do stuff you hate doing. Why do people get so much glee out of that.

But, just remember, smoking does not cause blood clots. Not. Smile
