This outfit is from Berkeley California, not Ohio [as voters may believe]
Put out the news that it's from Socialist Berkeley and it may work to slow them down.

It's my understanding the Ohio legislature will be back in session 11-12-08...
S.B. No. 346 is supposed to be discussed at that time...
It is also my understanding that a similar bill is to be introduced in the Ohio house of reps.
at that time.....

We shall see...

The Publicans lost the House and have solid control of the Senate.

It's fu*ked then. So say I. Great God-D**ned strategy. And yes, I know they can still have a vote in a lame-duck session, but now the ones who lost the election more than likely won't give a s*it either way. Watch. I suppose I should be thankful the government's still divided, BUT-the cRATS will take care of that somehow.

Whether this strategy works or not remains to be seen..
What is important NOW, is that all Ohioans who would like to see the smoke-free law be amended should contact their state reps. and urge them to support S.B. 346...

It'd absolutely be nothing short of impressive if the Ohio state ban ends up being amended. But I do have to fear SB 346's chances are limited, now that the Dems gained control of the Ohio House. And of course, I don't even needed to begin to discuss how Dems have traditionally been more sympathetic to anti-smoking groups over the years....(and this is as much as I know that very limited #'s of Repubs do back antis) *sigh!*

I do like the idea however though of highlighting that ANR(the organization that put out the alert) is based in California. I would also make sure to highlight to Ohio state lawmakers about ANY losses that have occurred to businesses under the Ohio state ban, whether those may be decreased alcohol sales, decreased tips, decreased hours of operation(and/or tips given to employees), decreased charity contributions, etc! I think about everyone can understand where I was going by suggesting those things, and hopefully if nothing else, Ohio lawmakers closer to any border areas of the state will fight harder for a ban repeal than say, lawmakers representing areas near Columbus....

Well, was on the 11 o'clock news-the OheilO restaurant association has joined forces with the Cancer society, Lung association, and the Heart association to stop this. Because the restaurant ass. wants to keep it a "LPF" (I refuse to use the words any more, the term sickens me).Yep, uncover your plan 8 or nine months in advance-give your opponents with millions of dollars and fullsupport of almost all media outlets in the state....then set with your thumbs up your a$$..yep, that's what I'd do. DEAR GOD, the republiturdds deserved to get flushed down the toilet the way they did.
