I don't think he's ever SAID WHAT his position would be-but-it's politically incorrect now (there are people who have told me they'd never vote for a smoker for any office), plus-his wife may be fairly hot, but she's a NURSE, I believe, plus a [beeyotch] who wears the pants in the family(she told the media, "If you catch him smoking, tell ME-I'll take care of it"), so I think we know what would happen.
I believe it was during one of the earliest debates last year when everyone was still in the running. The moderator asked several of the then front-runners (there were about 5 or 6 then that were popular) if they agreed that a nation-wide smoking ban was a good idea and they all said 'yes'. Obama was one of them.
Of course I'm working from memory here and you know how dumb us 40+ years, pack a day smokers are.......LOL
Then again it could just be a blonde moment (even though my blonde is not natural).......
Or just my 55+ age?
Give me time I'm sure I'll find a good excuse if I remembered this wrong................ROFLMA |

Read about ALL the candidates still running (barr, mckinney, etc). Vote for the one with the strongest PRO-Constitutional stance................it's the best you can do because neither of the two choices forced upon us right now will protect and/or defend the constitution. |

Well smoking bans will probably always be local issues so the prez will not effect that. The prez can stop more tobacco taxes like Bush did with his veto pen last year. McCain would most likely do that.
I have never liked McCain that much, so I didn't know for whom I would vote. I knew Osama Bama was a socialist and a weasel, so he was out of the running. But when crazyboy McCain put Palin on the ticket that got my vote. She is a solid conservative with a terrific record of getting things done in Alaska like getting the natural gas pipeline deal done after years of bickering and cutting taxes as gov and mayor. She is great on gun rights too.
Palin comes from a state where people don't like the government butting into their lives and she doesn't seem to be too fond of big government. Since I deem McCain and Palin marginally exceptable I don't have to flush my vote down the toilet by voting for a third party candidate this year. |

| The key word there is 'marginally'. I do love Palin, the Naughty Librarian, though. |

The height of insanity is doing the same thing (voting for the lesser of two evils) over and over again and expecting a different result.
THAT is why I'm not doing that this year. I'm tired of wasting MY vote on people who lie and are steering our nation away from the ideal of our founding fathers.
Anyone who thinks McCain isn't looking to socialism isn't really paying attention. What do you think "national health care" is all about?
Trust me, both McCain and Obama (as is always the case in our elections) are put there by those hell bent on destroying the freedom and liberty that is America.
And Palin? A woman-hating female? Sorry, she is a disgrace to women. She feels it is perfectly acceptable that rape victims pay for their own rape kit testing to catch the criminal; she feels it is perfectly acceptable to force a female to carry and give birth to the child of her rapist? She doesn't feel that birth control is an acceptable form of responsibility for a woman wanting to avoid pregnancy (in other words sex is ONLY for reproduction). Sorry, a woman who has such little respect for the fact that a woman should have the right to make her own choices regarding her body is NOT someone I could trust with guarding my constitutionally guaranteed rights (no where in the constitution does it say that we are NOT allowed to make our own choices for our own bodies).
Just because she likes hunting with the boys doesn't make her ideal. And if she is hunting ONLY for sport and not utilizing her kills properly, then she is really the bottom of the barrell. |

| I'm pro-life myself , especially partial-birth abortion, no need with today's medical equipment-you know extremely earely if there's a problem, unlike the 50s back)(against death penalty too, so consistent),so I'm not going to argue with you any more. |

I'm not arguing, just stating MY opinion like you are. Last time I checked I was still allowed to voice that opinion too.
I don't believe abortion should be used in place of responsibility and birth control. And I can agree with you on the partial birth abortion, there is no reason to wait so long (except maybe in rare cases where the mother's life is in danger).
But I don't believe that anyone should have the right to force their "life" belief on everyone else either. Roe v Wade allows everyone a choice, pro-life stance doesn't. Having a choice does not automatically mean every one or even most will actually take that route. It just makes the option available.
And considering the number of children under state care with no home to call their own, do we really want to increase that number?
Your consistency is admirable......but apparently feel sport killing of animals is fine?........just don't let me ever see you whining about the welfare state and the cost of "supporting" people.............have you seen the costs associated with prisoners; have you adopted any unwanted children? I don't believe in applying the death penalty easily, but there really are some sick psychos in prison that I don't feel we should be paying for their housing, food, clothing, medical, education and entertainment. Besides, our prisons don't rehabilitate anymore. Most in prison would probably learn better lessons being forced to perform community services - even if for a few years.
But that's just me and my thoughts. |
