Sorry for posting here but I couldn't find a place to post it but what are the type of filters that cigarettes use?
For example I heard that Players(Canadian) have fiberglass in them...then from the packaging of Mild Sevens, it says charcoal filters...
Anyone know pros and cons of filters?
Thanks. |

| Most of the filters are just plain cotton or other fiber. By putting charcoal in the filter, you're filtering more of the smoke, but retaining more of the flaver. I believe the fancy camels and/or the winstons that come in the plastic pack use charcoal in the filters. I would imaging fiberglass takes some of the bite out to make it a smother smoke. It would probably retain some of the excess heat. |

Thanks Tom, I started wondering about it after I accidently lit the wrong side of my cigarette in a very dark place after my friend handed me a cigarette...
Neat thing is that the filter is completely useless after its been burned such as hardening and heating up sensation while inhaling...Yes I found this out when I started smoking years and years ago heh heh. |

| I smoke Mild Sevens and the charcoal filter really does a lot to make it smoother. Mild Seven's are the #1 cigarettes in Japan, charcoal filters are widely used in Asia. |
