Gilster, you hit the nail on the head. I think if more studies would be done about the pollution in the air from other things, they would realize that the supposed "increase" of cancer is from THAT, not from second hand smoke. It is just easier to blame the smokers than admit that they were wrong.

They don't need to do a study on that, they already know it. The problem is that the pollution comes from things they all like and find convenient. Since they hate the smell of cigarette smoke and only a minority of the population use it, tobacco is an easy target. THAT is why we are going through this. Distract them from the real causes and buy another 30+ years before the real truth gets out and hopefully they will be too old to be prosecuted or already dead.

I hope you all realize that you will all die of cancer, well at least you know how you are going to die. You are all terrible people for supporting smoking!

You can absolutely guarantee with 200% accuracy that every single one of us WILL definitely die from cancer and no other cause? You know this for a fact HOW? WHERE is your proof and the guarantee?

My smoking grandmother, died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 96......no cancer in her body.

My smoking father, recently died...............age 81, from pneumonia............no cancer.

Now for the earth shattering news flash............EVERY ONE has the cancer gene in them, though it tends to remain dormant. What is not known is why it is triggered active in some people and not others...and we are talking about people with similar habits and lifestyles no less. Or why the health nut who does everything the health-nazi's tell him/her to do will still get cancer but their "bad" sibling who ignores the scare tactics is healthy as a horse.

There are NO guarantees in life, NO ONE gets out alive and we are ALL going to die from something at some time. And to the best of my knowledge GOD is the ONLY one with that particular information.

You wussies are so pathetic. You'll scare yourself to death long before I ever die (and I'm 55 already and smoking for 40+ years now).

Brilliant post, Lynda. Although I've long gotten to the point where I(like other smokers) just wisely ignore proclamations from antis....

I certainly can suspect what's coming to Napoleon, though. A little 5 letter word from some cultures that starts with a k, and is spelled K-A-R-M-A!

Thanks! I try to ignore them, but I'm fed up with their actually wishing ugly deaths on us smokers that I actually demand the proof of their words. I want to see the guarantee that I will die as they proclaim and that they will live forever.

I saw a man in my office building last week, I'd guess he was in his 70's. He was thin and appeared healthy. He was wearing a T-Shirt that read:

"Eat healthy, stay fit
Die anyway"

I loved it!!!

I absolutely would also have loved to see that t-shirt!
