Hi there, anyone here from Canada that has ordered from an online shop like Yesmoke?
Anyway I've been smoking Canadian brands for the longest time now and really itching for some brands not made in Canada, so I am deciding to order online, one main concern is the duty for canada, how is it calculated for cigarettes? I knew a friend that used to order online and he says to expect an extra $20 for every carton that you order for duty. |

| It's probably a lot more than $20. Maybe 20 US dollars. I think you have a $3.01 per pack tack. That's $30.10 + GST and PST. |

I tried to find info on this as well (as I'd like to buy Dunhill Lights) and I tried reading through the legalese on the Government of Canada website, and I thought I saw mention of excise tax being 4% on top of provicinal tax rates (I'm thinking maybe 4% on top of GST and PST though)...But paying 19% on top of what the cost of the carton seemed a bit too good to be true ($4 USD on top of a $20 USD carton of cigarettes?).
So what's the general concensus on buying from "duty-free online stores" and getting them delivered to Canada? I don't want any nasty surprises.... |
