I came up with some info re Arizona that may be of help. It appears that a law protecting smokers from employment discrimination based on personal smoking was enacted in 1991. It was statute 36.601.02. However, as part of a widespread smoking ban ordinance of 2007 signed into law by the governor, the 36.601.02 protection was repealed. That's what it looks like to me, but there may be more to this, and I ain't a lawyer. Check with an anti-discrimination lawyer or maybe a few. They'll usually talk to you in an "initial consultation" for nothing. The links below don't really look promising as far as I can see, but again, that's just an internet search, a good lawyer may well know a lot more that might be good. Of course don't tip your hand on the internet about any crucial strategy for your case that a lawyer might suggest, but if you do hear from that DC firm with the website, or from other lawyers with info of general relevance, let us know here. This is a hot issue and something good may come of it somewhere along the line.

Enacted 1991 (and still shown at ALA site): http://slati.lungusa.org/appendixf.asp

Discussed 2005: http://74.125.95.104/search?q=cache:Zh-ZbCuZdNQJ:www.bna.com/bnabooks/ababna/stdev/2005/gudas.doc+arizona+statute+36-601.02&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=14&gl=us

Looks like repealed 2007 as part of new ban law: http://www.azsos.gov/aar/2007/2/governor.pdf

Probably something to look out for from now on. The old "repeal the law on the back of some other bill that gets passed at 2 am". Sneaky bastards will stop at nothing to get us to see things "their way".

Yes, that's what it looks like, and it is something to watch for elsewhere. Our loving Nazi overseers want us unemployed and impoverished. They get "their way." It just keeps getting worse and keeps growing beyond smoking too. In general I suspect defiance of the laws is going to play a bigger role than will formal court challenges in turning the tide. Resistance and contempt for government and its laws is growing but not fast enough yet. I hope I live long enough to see the Nazis hanged but I'm not sure I will. In the meantime you beat them every time and every way you can.

I would never have thought, when I was young, that I'd come really to hate living in the USA, but you live and learn about what bastards can do when stupid people let them do it. I never doubted there were lots of bastards and stupid people around so I guess I really shouldn't be surprised at what has happened. Europeans are fighting back now at least better than the US sheeple did. Sanity has to make a big comeback, though, and I think that's going to take some time and some doing. "Moderation in all things" is good advice. Anti ideology is a severe mental illness. Sick, sick, sick!
