Seems like the whiners and complainers have settled permanently even in the conservative area of Amarillo, Tx. On May 10th, city voters will have the opportunity to cast their vote to ban smoking in enclosed spaces.

All spaces including sports pubs and bars will come under this heavy-handed law. The "banners" use the same old song and dance, "cancer, kids, grandpa and death", to promote their cause but hopefully, the citizens who understand the issue will once again turn out and vote against this nosey ordinance. We went thru this 3 years ago and the ordinance was defeated.

Oh yeah, there are a few exceptions: I can still go to my local tabernacle or synagogue and toke up if I choose! Seems like the do gooders didn't want to mess with church folk too much.

Have you heard any hints at how the early voting has went on this smoking ban proposal in Amarillo? I remember googling about the Amarillo smoking ban proposal, and reading in one article that not many people at all had voted on this referendum. Of course, I'm not sure if that's good or bad for our libertarian-minded side, but I'd like to think it'd mean the former(good)...

All I know is early voting turnout was much lower than when we did this three years ago.

This will be close either way.

I will post the results once I know.

Thanks for the interest and keep fighting to keep nosey, do-gooders in their Vegan restuarants and tea clubs.
