The Guv yesterday launched into a rant about how illegal indian cigarette sales were helping fund Hezzbolla and other terorists 
Smokers were "asked" to not support terrorism and buy only taxed smokes.
(btw..a pack in NY city goes to $9.00 next month.)
As if this situation existed in a vaccuum.
Hey guv dopes...you want to stop the black market... then remove the tax....it isn't rocket science.
We told you,from day one, where this idiotic taxation would lead and hell no...it didn't spring up yesterday. The black market sprung up as soon as the heavy taxation began...and the money isn't going only to foreign terrorists...also domestic organized crime and to foreign "interests." Can you say Chinese Tongs?
I have said it before, I'll say it again.... I will smoke. I will not pay your taxes.
I'll now add that if your governmental policies enable foreign religious fanatics to blow your sorry behinds to kingdom come ..then the blame rests on you..not on me.
Maybe the next time the Palestinians are dancing in the street on TV ....I'll be clapping in rhythm....after all eveyone pitiches a fit when the guv uses the patriot act to catch terrorists .....yet no one seems to mind when the guv uses the same tactics to find smokers trying to avoid those ridiculious taxes. It is a bit funny....terrorists can use the internet and phones to organize and carry out any manner of outrages in comparative security. Yet some poor working stiff not only has to pay 4 bucks a gallon for gas to go to work....(and earn tax revenue for the guv) but should he try an save a buck on his smokes here come the jack booted guv thugs.

This is tobacco prohibition in the sense of groups finding ways to help smokers evade the tobacco taxes. And the money Natives/cig smugglers make from selling tax-free cigs goes toward terrorism? Sounds normal to me.
Sounds no different form these illegal cig dealers in the streets using their money (from selling port packs) to help get more drugs, more guns, and more ammo.
Afta all, the money used to be in the bank. Now the money is in that cig pack. And when you multiply say 10,000 tax-free packs to the price the Natives are offering towards NY smokers, then sheet, those evil folks don't need to worry about robbing banks anymore to fund evil activities!
10,000 packs x 5 bucks = $50,000
I know if the brothas were selling that many packs in my town's streets alone, that would be enough money to even buy a motorcycle or two, let alone buy new guns and more ammo. I don't think they interested in supporting terrorists though. hee hee
I agree with the person who said if the tobacco taxes weren't so high, then none of the evil folks/groups out here wouldn't be using packs of cigs as a NEW way to do whateva the F it takes to get lots of money the bad way. Cause if cigs were affordable, then nobody would botha buying even tax-free packs in the streets. |

| We had a group of cig smugglers busted a few years ago here in OheilO, they were sending the profits directly to Bin Laden in the middle east. Oh, well. The laws of unintended consequences. We're supposed to bend over and take it up the a$$ in order to be patriotic-and the statewide smoker bans have incdeased about 110% SINCE 9/11, in case nobody's noticed. Yeah, don't support the Taliban in the middle east-support the American one right here. F**k them. |

Not that I support terrorists specifically, cause I'm still scared to get on a plane afta 9/11.
But still, as a hood person, it still sux those smugglers got busted in Ohe!!o. I guess I can see sending money to Bin Laden being a legit reason for busting em. But I doubt that's gonna put an end to underground cig sales period in that state.
That sux even from a smoker's standpoint. Cause now the smokers are forced to pay lots of bucks towards Ohe!!o for a pack.
One way a smoker can avoid paying tobacco taxes to any state is by stealing packs/cartons instead. Why do you think there's been an increase in cig heists in recent years? LOL!!! |

| It's probably been the biggest burglary problem here for years-ever since the second tax increase. Our industrious one here in Toledo (called the smoking bandito by the local media)takes out entire walls in stores and quietly loads whatever vehicle he has, then drives off-and no one ever sees or hears a thing. |

Like I said, the all round solution that would remedy all these concerns instantly is just remove the taxes.
Ain't gonna happen 'cause that tax money is stubbornly needed to proved that elusive better life for the army of illegals that have arrived and the bigger army on the way after next January...and the politicos are sure as hell gonna make sure these folk are fully benefitted so they can get their votes.
Who wants to bet that all these politicos who support these taxes never pay the taxes themselves? I can almost guarantee you that these hypocrits have secure pipelines to the indian reservations' stashes.
You don't think they enjoy a smoke after their dial a ride girls?...   |
