| i live in encinitas CA, they have passed a law where i cant smoke outside at a coffee shop. do i just boycot the bizness and tell them why and hope more ppl do the same? this whole thing is pissing me off and i feel powerless. give them an inch and they take a mile has never rung so true... thanks. |

YES ---- if you don't say anything then they wont know
Last week I stopped in a little town in W.Tn. (Waffle house), that had the ban -no signs -no ashtrays---I guess that everyone was to be aware of their law before they hit town.
Needless to say --- after telling the manager "why I didn't need breakfast at his joint"
we took it 20 miles down the road to have a smoke with our coffee.
Until more people let the businesses know "why" There will be no Paul Harvey ( the rest of the story) for them to think on their decision of going "smoke free"

Okay, Babe. Encinitas Councilmen Bond, Stocks and Dalager resisted a smoke ban for years because they felt it was a government intrusion. They finally gave in to the relentless pressure from the Anti-Smokers because they weren't getting support from the Smokers.
WHERE WERE YOU??
What can you do now? For starters, go to www.smokersclubinc.com for ideas. Click to the Newsletter. There is a "Stuff" list on the left hand side. Scroll down to "Stuff to Print and Use."Print out a batch of "Sorry, We Won't Be Back" cards and give gobs of them to all your friends to plaster over all the coffee shops in town. Trot around town (Encinitas isn't that big) with packs of them yourself and pass them out. I'll get back with more ideas later.
