Doh! Okay, thanks for the info. This should start to get very interesting. My future daughter in law is a bartender at the non-smoking bar right next door. I'll keep you guys posted with any local insight. I'm up for a fight!
I don't like rap music so I don't go to places that play it. Like duh. Maybe we need some state legislation to protect my poor idiotic choices.....Because, according to the state. I can't make that choice on my own.
Could you image the sh#t storm if this whole controversy centered around abortion?
Protecting the health of others (a.k.a. the fetus)? |

Protecting the health of others (a.k.a. the fetus)? johnny....here's the deal. I frequently submit commentaries to FORCES.org that they nearly always put up on their site. These pieces are mine:
http://forces.org/News_Portal/news_viewer.php?id=847
http://forces.org/News_Portal/news_viewer.php?id=898
http://forces.org/News_Portal/news_viewer.php?id=987
The folks at FORCES have also been putting up tons of their own commentaries regarding this subject on their site. (Are you familiar with FORCES?)
Anyway, they've been covering this extensively and here's what I'd like to get from you: (I'll make sure FORCES credits it to Johnny C. of Elko or whatever you like.)
A first hand description from your future daughter-in-law of the whole scene at the non-theater night bar she works at, her take on theater nights, her bosses take on it, what she hears from customers about it.......anything and everything.
Maybe you go to the Bullseye and snap some exclusive photos of the whole scene. You're a friggin' gold mine for information fresh from the scene.
We might have to work out some e-mail address info through Bill or something.
You up for it? Can we work out the details?
If you'd like to discuss this any further, we should do it through email only. |

I've been in touch with some of the the Minnesotans. They can really use some bucks. I've sent them some. Here's the address:
Kenn Rocker, President
Minnesota Tavern League
235 East Roselawn
Suite 17
Maplewood, MN 55117
You should include the memo "Theatre Night Defense Fund" on your check.
Whoever can, please do, those folks are working hard and more real good can come of this, so help if you can. Send a little or a lot as you can manage. |

I am totally up for that!
I was thinking about a protest night at the Bullseye Saloon on Monday night (4/21) and we can watch the Minnesota Wild in their NHL playoff run at the same time. I can contact all the local media (newspapers and TV) as well as Phillip Morris. We finally have a soapbox to make a stand. All we need are bar owners and smokers to join in to give us a powerful voice against the government mandate. I can go down to the two bars in Elko on Monday and talk to both of the owners and give them a heads up.
Is there anybosy else in this state willing to back us up if we do this?
Pass the word. Bullseye Saloon (Elko, MN) on Monday, 4/21. Time to make a stand.
Be there or be square. |

Be there or be square. johnny.....I e-mailed Bill about us getting each other's email addresses so we can communicate confidentially.
And Bill.....if you see this first, well, you are now aware. |
