According to the CigarBoy Legal Council it is not looking good for us. A ban is working its way through the Senate (only legislative house) and after a quick vote count by the CBLC it looks like the bad guys may have enough votes to override a threatened veto by the gov.
Of course, most of the Crats support it but there are some spineless RINO Publcians that are the real problem. It is her job to lobby the senators to uphold the veto.
This year her hands are full trying to fight the libs in the Senate who want to ban captial punishment, raise taxes in additon to banning smoking. She is standing there trying to put her fingers in the dike as the libs launch a full-on assault on on the rights and wallets of taxpayers.

No, the CB Leagal Council lives in Nebraska and is involved in shaping policy there.
I have been looking at homes in Covington, Ky, so I hope to get out of Ohio in the future. |

Today the Nebraska Senate passed a veto proof no-smoking law. The govenor doesn't even want to veto it at this point since it passed by a big margin.
He has five days to decide if he will sign it. I say 20 percent chance he could veto it and have it upheld.
The Nebraska Seante (one house only) is much more liberal than it was two years ago. They are passing a bunch of liberal crap this session.
But at least this is the senate doing it and not a vote of the people, so you could take out a few of the bad eggs and be back in business, but that would take a lot of work. |

| The governor caved against the advice of the CB Legal Council and just signed the bill for a the state-wide smoking ban. It is the wussy Republicans selling us out. You know the libs are all for bans and limits on our freedom but the Publcians are supposed to be protecting our freedoms. Well, at least I don't have to go visit there anymore, it is a little too cold for my taste. |
