Alist, you may like Wingate gold, as thats a straight Va menthol, I havent tried it but I hear its very mild.

I have tried the Wingate Light, but not the Wingate Gold. I wish D & R would list ALL of their flavors on the website. I noticed on my friend's bag of Ramback, there are several D & R flavors that do not appear on the website. I will get a tub of the WIngate Gold at some point. No doubt I will sample ALL of the D & R light tobaccos before all is said and done.

I think I ll order a Tar guard per your reccomendation, its only about $10.00.

Where did you find it selling at twice the going rate? According to the TarGard website, the TarGard tar traps are $4.99.

I appreciate the help!

One thing I failed to mention, often times the syo tubes are a bit larger than the premade tubes. This means it might take an extra second or two to slip the cig into the filter. It works, nonetheless.

If you do any more acid baths, I m thinking a lactic acid dilute may be even more neutral in taste, available in food grade at homebrew stores.

Honestly, the rinses are just too much work. I doubt I will ever fool with them again, but will keep this information on hand, on the off chance I ever do a tobacco rinse again.

Thanks, thats the site I ordered from, they seem good so far, quick confirmation and then a "shipped" notice. So i m just waiting, and of course I then saw them at the CVS! However they only had the filtered type, so I m glad I ordered it. Hope they dont make it too light! Anyways thanks for the help, and careful w/ that pipe tobacco!

That's good to know. I might order a couple of those at some point down the road myself.

I have only seen two types of TarGard at CVS. One is similar to what you are purchasing, except they are disposable and come in a pack of 5 or 6. The other are the tiny plastic ones that I bought and reuse.

Hopefully it won't. I would be more worried about it ending up too light with the Friend Holder permanent tar traps, since they are supposed to have such a tight draw. Do give us a report!

I actually had my questions answered on the syo forums. My only real concern was due to my friend. She was worried about the safety of smoking pipe tobaccos, which aren't typically inhaled. Others are doing it and have been doing it, so that concern was put to rest.
