I've started to contact state and cities with smoking bans and asking why their policies aren't prominently displayed on their tourists sites. Fayetteville AR just passed such a ban. Now, there are plenty of hotels and restaurants in this area where smokers are welcomed and treated with hospitality. No reason to stay in a town that doesn't want our cash, nor to vacation in a state that is so anti-personal freedom.

Health is the reason for this? I'll believe it when I can ask that another patron be removed for coughing or sneezing without covering their nose and mouth. The effect there is immediate and presents a health danger to me. Nose picking is just plain distasteful and not something I want my grandchildren to witness so should be able to request the removal of anyone enganging in this nasty habit as it offends my sensibilities and, in a lot of cases is downright unhealthy. (used this when the militiant non-smokers at work decided to get rid of the smoking room - yes, I would have been calling in a supervisor to remove anyone threatening my health in any of the above mentioned ways - we got to keep our smoking room).
