Hi,
I am very new to myo cigs so I understand I must be doing something really wrong. I have a brand new top-o-matic and I can spit out a pack of perfect cigs in under 3 minutes using the ZigZag ff 100's tubes. I would prefer to use the ZZ Light 100mm tubes, but for some odd reason, 98% of the tubes only fill up about an inch and a 1/2 (in the middle of the cig, not the filter) and then the machine rips a small piece off the end you would light when it releases. I have tried packing them so light that there is not enough tobacco to make a cig, I have tried packing them tight, and of course, in the middle. I have tried pulling the handle very fast, and very slow .
When I pack them very lightly, and pull the handle very, very slowly, once in a great while, it will stuff into the filter end with only a slight gap, and then I have to pack the tobacco down,(as I have to pack it so lightly) leaving about half of the cig for me to fill by hand. I am extremely frustrated. It takes about 30 minutes to make around 5 cigs.
As soon as I put a FF tube on, we are back in business, moving at the speed of light. I even went out and got a new box of tubes thinking maybe I had a bad box. Same problem. What on earth is going on? I would have no problem using an ultra-light tobacco with the ff tubes, but my fav tobacco only comes in ff and light... any ideas?
Thanks in advance! Terri

Terri,

Welcome

I'm not familar with the ZZ lights but if they are the type with holes in the paper and not around the filter it'll make for a weaker tube to try and stuff. Try another brand paper.
Also try drying out the baccy a bit.

Hope this helps

I got it!
Thanks J.C. for responding.
The problem turned out to be, as best as I can see, that the filter on the light tube must be heavier. I watched very closely as I injected and found that the light tube filter hangs down a touch before injecting. When I built a support to hold the tube level while on the injector, it worked like a charm!
