Curious, what are yall's faverite brands?
Mine is Marbs. When I started in high school, I liked Salems but it was not the "in" thing back then. My dad smoke Merits so I tried those, then found out that everyone at school either liked the Marlboro Man or Joe Camel, I picked the Marlboro Man.
In Madison, WI, most places are unfortunately, smoke free. I think a smoking and nonsmoking area is reasonable, but to ban smoking in every entire restaurant and bar is really stretching it. Why not have facilites for "both" parties as we all have been doing all along?
That seems fair.

Leah, first off let me say that our high-schools must have been the same (although in different geographic regions). I actually started in Jr. High, and everyone was smoking Marbs or Camels. I prefer to smoke the Red's in the box OR Red's 100's. My dad smoked Merit 100's, and while they are made by PM, they still aren't as enjoyable as Marbs Actually that is "how" I got started (used to steal packs from him when he'd buy cartons).
I do want to sympathize with you about most places being smoke free. This is a very unfortunate day when you have better odds of finding a smoke-free restaurant than one that allows the customer (who pays the salaries, the sales tax, and the property tax of the establishment) to choose whether they would like to dine smoke-free or in the smoking section.
My favorite restaurant has got to be (in this order): 1) Any one that allows smoking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The first and foremost is the type of food that they serve. If it is tacky fast food forget it. I like Japenese cuisine, and you can smoke at the bar at Blue Fin while eating sushi, so I like that one. I also like the Olive Garden, eventhough you can't smoke there.
Whether I choose to smoke or not, there should be a section that suits everyone in a business. Smoking and nonsmoking areas, smoking only restaurants if there is non-smoking only restaurants.
I went to Florida in high school and saw a huge sign on a restaurant door that read "SORRY, NO NONSMOKING AREAS AVAILABLE." I got to have a smoke at the table. Three years later, when I went to California, you couldn't smoke anywhere!!

| I prefer smoking camel lights, or bugler with the light zig zag tubes, but sometimes I smoke Marlboro Lights if I have coupons and need a pack or someone gives me a pack. It hurts me to support Philip Morris though. I only go to smoking restaurants. Most restaurants in my state still allow smoking. I know Wildwood or Wildwood Crest, NJ banned smoking indoors, so I just avoid that area now. I've seen those signs in some restaurants, bars and diners in NJ that say they don't offer a non-smoking section. Sometimes they have a non-smoking section, but if it's a strict town the local lawmakers feel it doesn't qualify as a complete non-smoking section. I like to go to small italian restaurants or diners; they're almost all smoking. I stay away from the chain restaurants now, because many of them only let you smoke at the bar now. I know Applebees and Chilis make people smoke by the bar only, so I avoid those places now if I'm just going for dinner. Smokers are definately winning in NJ now. I hope it stays that way. |

My fav smoke is a Macanudo 1968 and Montecristo White Labels.
I eat all my meals in N. Ky where indoor smoking is legal. I like the Waterfront for steaks, Montgomery Inn for ribs and KJ's Sports Pub for casual dining. |
