I didn't read this in the paper, nor did I see it on tv-of course-since it's rather obvious.
There were two bar and grill type places in toledo called JED'S BARBECUE AND GRILLE-one's over by me, the other was across town. This guy was making money had over fist a few years ago, so he opened up the other place. I remember before the november election, the owner was on tv showing his smoker section-FULL- and his non-smoker section-EMPTY-divided by a wall. He pointed again to the empty section, looked in the camera, and said, "I don't want ny business to look like THIS!"
The statewide ban came in anyway, wanted or not. I have found out on a local blog tonight that he has closed the one across town, and there is a rumor that the employees at the one by me didn't get paid last week. When somebody said, "Could the smoker ban have had anything to do with this?" My response was:
"GEE-YA THINK?"
A rabid smoker-hater on the board came forth, called me an a$$hole, said the ban had absolutely nothing to do with it, and he claimed the owner is a cokehead. I call BS, as he' been in business for years, and both locations always had full parking lots-before the ban. I'd noticed a BIG drop-off in business since the ban, due to the lack of cars. As I said, though-DON'T hold your breath waiting for the media to cover this.
Oh-yes-these business were LOCALLY owned. Not a chain. |

Forget that board, I had all kinds of people come to my assistance there. HERE'S where I could use your mastery of wit-especially against the oboxious pr*Ck who took his screen name from a penis('HandBanana').
Although there are some other bad ones on this particular blog, too.
The thread starter Starling02 is a great person, she's all over the place on the net for smoker's rights.
