Now talk about overprotective...
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070614/ap_on_re_ca/no_girlfriend
Quote: PETERBOROUGH, Ontario - A judge has ruled that a 24-year-old Canadian man is not allowed to have a girlfriend for the next three years.
The ruling came after Steven Cranley pleaded guilty on Tuesday to several charges stemming from an assault on a former girlfriend.
Cranley, who has been diagnosed with a dependent personality disorder, attacked his girlfriend in an argument after their breakup.
He tried to prevent her from phoning the police by cutting her phone cord and punched and kicked her. He finally stabbed himself with a butcher knife when police did arrive, puncturing his aorta.
Doctors say Cranley has difficulty coping with rejection and runs a high risk to re-offend if he becomes involved in another intimate relationship.
Justice Rhys Morgan said Cranley "cannot form a romantic relationship of an intimate nature with a female person.
"That is the only way I can see the protection of the public is in place until you get the counseling you need."
Cranley had already served 146 days in pre-trail custody, which Morgan said was enough jail time in this case.
His lawyer says the no girlfriend order is the first of its kind that he has encountered.
Now I consider myself a man... a mans man if you will. I am not skinny, I take pride in my acial and chest hair. I do not go "tanning" nor do I get my haircut every 2 weeks. I actually enjoy sports and drink beer, not cosmos... The way we soften our kids these days is shocking. No wonder you end up with loons that don't know how to take rejection. I get rejected twice a day, between sales and haggling and tryiong to pick up chicks, but it doesnt bother me. Why? Because rejection is part of life. It makes us who we are.. if you can live with rejection then you will go nowhere in life. Bring back dodgeball. Let the kids pick their teams. Let the most unathletic be picked last. Exclusion is motivation.. get a life people.. |

| That is the most preposterous story I have seen in an article!Maybe the judge is gay and wanted a man to manthing relation with the guy he loves.By not allowing him a guy, girl relation,he thinks his odds are improving.Judges can be ,and sometimes are, really sick people! |

That judge who told this boy's mom "You can't smoke in your home anymore" was sick himself. The Judge thought the boy had a right to live in a smoke-free home, and gave the boy a lawsuit victory. I was flashing back to an article I read, so my bad on not having a URL to back up what I'm talking about.
I ain't joking on a 13 yo boy (at the time) suing his own single mom for smoking in a crib SHE pays for. If I was a dad and my kid pulled off the same threat, I'd give him/her a BIGGA threat that will make him/her think twice on suing me for trying to force him/her to smoke (vis SHS inhalation).
I wonder if that mom still has custody of her own son. I heard of smoking parents losing custody of their own kids unless the parents stop smoking. |
