The fucking author of the fucking study says himself that New York used his study for something it was not intended. He said they should wait for some peer reviewed studies.
Quote: Greenwald said the research had been intended to show that lab tests of baseball bats could serve as a good indicator of how bats would perform on the field. Although the study did find that metal bats performed better, nothing in the research indicated they performed so well that they could be lethal.
These fucking people just keep banning. I am running out of time with all the letters I have to write to councilman about this. There is NO EVIDENCE yet some woman whos son died tragically is all for it.
Quote: Some states considering or undertaking a ban on metal bats include:
New Jersey, where a state Assembly committee voted last October to move forward with a bill banning metal and metal-composite bats from league and school baseball games involving children younger than 17. The bill has not yet been considered by the full state legislature.
North Dakota, where the state High School Activities Association has banned any bats not made of wood, starting this spring.
Massachusetts, which has considered a ban for several years but never has passed one.
Fucking Jersey, always follwing New York
Forget the fact that there is 0 science behind it. If it is not a country wide thing, the kids that have to play with wooden bats are at a svere disadvantage with their number to college scouts, and when they go to college and play with metal bats, they will be at a disadvantage again. I am sure someone will propose the outlaw overal of metal bats - a level playing field (my favorite word) and completely destroy and industry that has come to enjoy some profit. More unemployeed.
Lets get the hippies in on this one. You know how many more trees would have to be made with all these broken wooden bats?
Bill - I didnt know where else to put this. Maybe a forum for off topic posts? |
