Hello everyone! Wow...it looks like a lot has been going on around here; it'll take me a while to get caught up! It sure is good to be back home after much traveling anyways!

Well, I finally made the switch to MYO and could not be happier. After doing a bit of research I bought a Premier Supermatic, a selection of tubes and 3 different blends from cigarettetobacco.com

Their service was excellent and shipping was fast. I bought Vengeur Light, Windsail Light, And Ramback Gold. It's a tie between the Ramback Gold and Windsale. They both taste excellent and are very smooth. I love the Turkish taste of the Ramback Gold and will try the pure Turkish Ramback next. High quality smoke indeed.

As for tubes, I like the Vera Cruz, and Ramback tubes the best. The Premier lights and Zig Zag lights are also very good.

I got the hang of using the Supermatic pretty much right away; it's much easier then I expected. The crank can be a bit hard to push though. In all, I'm very happy with it and only regret not switching to MYO much, much sooner.

Good Man!! Another one added to the ranks of we who say, "Screw the government"!! That's what I use-the supermatic, and usually, the premier lights papers/tubes. I had much trial and error when I first started, in case no one ever put this info up before-when you first open a bag of tobacco-use a little more. When you start getting down toward the bottom, and get more of the powdery stuff that naturally trickles downward-use less. If your machine jams-don't fight it or try to force it. Stop and clean it out. I use an old nutpicker tool my grandmother had, it fits perfectly in the hole and gets everything shoved out. It's got none of the additive/preservative crap they put in 'ready-made' smokes, which is another good thing. Welcome aboard! You'll go faster and faster at it as time goes on. You'll become weary or discouraged sometimes, and buy a few packs here and there, but eventually you get the hang of it. I'd also suggest buying a final carton of the brand you usually smoked-in the BOX, if they make them that way. I use the boxes for my RYO's, and as long as you don't sit on them, they should last about a year. If they don't sell your old brand in a box, you could always get some off friends who don't yet roll.

Cool

Hey seesee, good to see another MYO convert. Check out syo.dalrun.com. That site has a lot of information on using the Supermatic and on the different types of tobacco and tubes available.

Good Luck!

Yup, that's right...screw 'em! I'm turning all of my friends into converts too. I haven't bought commercially made cigs in years (before I switched to myo I purchased from an Indian reservation) and my friends too are now starting to realize that buying them is openly permitting the Gov. to discriminate against them.

I finally bought 6 ounces of bulk tobacco, today, and some rolling papers.

I just roll 'em by hand, since I like non-filters. No more excessive taxes here, those anti bastards can starve!

Well, it has happened. I made my first cigs today and just ordered some higher quality tubes and tobacco. I'm looking to blend the gifted tin of american spirit blue with sagamore natural & sagamore canadian, in the vera cruz nocts.
I intend to move away from am.spirit altogether--just have fun, exploring a new world of taste. Mix my own blends.
I should've done this sooner, no doubt about it. Rolling Eyes

Unfortunately, the only tubes for sale locally here were the rock-gut Gamblers and the Zig-Zags. Of the 2 lowshelfs, I prefer the ZZs. Ack on both though. Crying or Very sad

El Reys are one of the best, as far as I'm concerned.
