I think we should start a campaign across the country for a smokers day. At noon on the designated day all smokers should light up where ever they are (preferably in a non smoking establishment)

Actually, I take that back. I think every day we should start lighting up where ever we feel the need. Screw em. Exactly what are they going to do about it anyway? If you got 25 people in a restaurant or bar that lights up at one time what are they going to do ...call the smoking police?

I was in Pittsburgh airport two days ago and decided screw it and lit one up. Not one person said a word to me.

If 25 people light up in a nonsmoking establishment, someone will call the local police and who knows...the jackbooted SWAT team might show up, right? And your local version of the skank media sure as shit won't report the facts. So 25 individuals might end up in the so-called criminal justice system or they may end up in the so-called mental health system and for what?
For responding emotionally, not logically; for taking group action, not individual action.
No thanks, not interested.

Furthermore, it might be wise for tobacco-enjoyers to NOT congregate in front of businesses in groups of more than 3-5; you might get charged with breaking some "law" you don't even know about, true?

Then let's just do what we've BEEN doing for 20 fucking years...NOTHING...NOT A FUCKING THING....and just bend over and take it up the ass when they come to take the kids from your home or fine or arrest you for smoking in your home. Fuck it, you're right. You're a fucking troll, I know it now.

Perhaps you have done nothing for 20 years but throw these hissy-fits/temper tantrums like an ill-raised two year old.
It's certainly a liklihood.

I was handing out smokers rights flyers in front of local businesses back in the late eighties-probably about the same time you were still swinging in your father's balls.

I think it is very cool that you lit up in an airport and no one had the nerve to say anything to you, lexikeri! If The Powers That Be wanted to make sheep of us, well, they have succeeded and now (as usual) Be Careful What You Wish For Because You Just Might Get It is coming back to haunt them. *snicker* Lexikeri is also right about organizing over smokers' rights.

I keep on flitting around saying that there should be some form of United National Smokers' Rights organization. I really truly do believe that's the only way smokers will keep what little freedom they have or *gasp* start making inroads into the Healthy Lifestyle Nazi's.

Look, there are plenty of folks on this board who have said,"That's nice but...there are so many of them!" Yes, that is true BUT look at the organizations who are really successful and don't have an overwhelming majority. The Gun Lobby (National Rifle Association) for instance. I don't believe that everybody in America owns a gun, and so they don't have the same interests but the gun lobby gets its way just about every time it tries. Why? They are fabulously well organized and they have spent decades getting in good with legislators and polishing their image among the public. There are plenty of people who are dead set against guns and owning them BUT America will never go "gun free".

See where I'm going with this? Of course you do. Why not give it a try? Doing nothing will get you exactly where you are now and worse. You can also be on the side of the angels in some matters (like what are they spending all that money on...the money they collect out of the exorbitant cigarette taxes: educating "the children" *tweet tweet* or spending it on cheap beer and whores? *snicker* it would be so cool to see an expose of some smug smoke nazi who benefits unduly from cigarette taxes or donations).

Someone could actually devote their life to a cause like this. * And it sure beats wasting time fighting among ourselves, as temping as that is. It isn't impossible to become a non-profit organization and start asking for donations and start the PR machine going. You can end-run a lot of bad attitude with good works and hard work.

*I am not wanting the job, I just started a company recently and am into that but, there are people who are looking for something to do.

I agree with Vickie.

They will be telling you next that you can't smoke in your own home.

Smokers HAVE to organize.

Our activity is not criminal.
