| Some smokers think it's worth it to travel several states to get their cigs at cheap prices. That's a nice idea, but I don't need to travel when ordering online. LOL It does suck for those who decide to buy their cartons out of states, and they can only buy a limit of 2 cartons (without paying state tax on the cartons). |

Actually, all a savy smoker would have to do....... for instance, lets say a new yorker, wanted to go to virginia to buy cigs.... and he didn't have the option of purchasing online. All this person would have to do is travel to different smokeshops within the Richmond, Va area and buy the "2 carton limit". Let's say he visited 10 different shops buying the 2 cartons (assume he had roommates and relatives in NY, all smokers). 2X10 = 20 cartons.
The tax authorities would be clueless unless they got ahold of his credit card statements (assuming he charged them). The only time big brother can commandeer financial info. like that is if you are accused of a more serious crime (rape, murder, etc). I think they would be hard pressed getting ahold of them for something of this nature. |
