The subject line says it all folks - also wanted to add 'have they figured out that prohibition is wrong, if not impossible to enforce?'
I checked out the anti-smoking, anti-fun, these people need to yank the stick from their ass, website tobaccofreekids.org. There has been no news articles/press releases, etc. since July 1, 2003.
With that in mind, I want to say wholehearted thank you to the good folks here who post articles and get the real truth out about these anti-smoking morons. These laws, taxes and other items that smokers must endure to enjoy a legal product is absurdity... perhaps the people at tfkids.org got the point - I don't know........
One thing is certain though, we must keep on for our rights to smoke where we want and for cigarettes to continue to exist the way they are today. Keep smoking everyone, and keep up the efforts to fight this Nazi-style, tyrannical oppression of smoker's. The Nazi's actually tried to ban smoking back during Hitler's reign, it failed. Likewise, we need to crush this fraudulent ban that certain entities feel compelled to do out of "public health", or "for the kids".... everyone knows its not about that, it's about the g-damned money! It's the biggest fraud ever perpetrated upon a class of people, and I for one refuse to go down without a fight!!! |

Damn skippy, Rick. I mentioned that in an earlier post - We all know government controls don't work (like prohibition or fascism) - so we need to let the people be free to make their own decisions. |

I also think that these people are probably the same ones who started the grass-roots, anti-drug campaign (no pun intended).
However, seeing that nothing they did hardly made a dent in the drug traffic (um, how about b/c drugs are illegal and these are hardened criminals who probably don't give a damn...), they moved on to something that they thought they could control better (tobacco).
I concur with one of the signatories on the petition - 'Kids may not be able to buy cigarettes, a legal product, at the corner store - however all they have to do is go to the next street corner to get an illegal one' |

Margaret Soden, Signature #615 on the petition, wrote: At least I never killed anyone by smoking and then driving (like drinkers). Why not tax alcohol for a change?
Now people, let's get this straight. Alcohol is very important to our cause and I won't have people bashing it! If they tried to tax or ban alcohol I would drop this site and begin fervently advocating alcoholic rights!
Luckily, that is not the case, so we continue to fight for smoker's rights safe in the fact that our rights to alcohol are protected. |

Well now, lets get this straight. During prohibition, you could not produce, distribute, give or have in possesion , any alcohol. This is NOT the case with Tobacco products.
I do agree that Prohibition did not work.
On a side note, outlawing murder hasnt worked either, but I do get a warm & fuzzy knowing its on the books. |

WRONG! DOn't be a facking jackas$ C716. The non-smoking lobby is fighting to take away our personal liberty and freedom on every level. Even if you don't smoke, you should be fighting for every person's right TO SMOKE. If you don't, the next right they take away may be your same-sex marriage. |

RIGHT
We are simply going to disagree. I do NOT believe smoking is a right. Like driving, it IS a priveldge.
While I have heard many smokers say " I fought for the right to smoke", I could easily counter with " I fought for thr right NOT TO "...... so in accordance, both sides need to eliquently state thier case. Simply saying "WRONG", does nothing.
Given time, we can work this out.

| This isn't the case with tobacco products because tobacco isn't under prohibition.....yet. Who said people can even still have possession of tobacco if/when it IS put under prohibition? |
