Has anyone tried the new cigarette from RJR, The Eclipse? I saw an ad for it in the Parade that comes with the Sunday paper, and would like to know what y'all think as well as which online sites may stock it. If I can't get it online, I'll have to buy a pack and try it around here..... that is, if Louisiana is included in the test market.
The site is www.newcig.com for more info. |

That's a pretty funky new cigarette there. I don't know if anyone sells it online yet (I just looked at yesmoke and they don't carry it).
Barely any smoke, no ashes, and no odor? It hardly seems like smoking at all! I would hate to let the pink-lungers know that we were considering these environmentally safe butts |

Well, I sort of have alterior motives for wanting to try it too. I have a friend (and now, a professor) who've told me I reek of smoke, and seeing as I'll be interviewing within the next year or so for a career (yay, NOT a crappy JOB, but a career) I figured It'd be best not to offend potential employers by smelling like smoke.
The problem with not smelling like smoke is 1) hard to do unless you actually quit (um, no) and 2) when you're going on an interview, naturally you're nervous and when I'm nervous I smoke like a chimney.
Anyway, back to the professor who told me I smell like smoke: He came off like an ass when he said it. He is from Massachussets, and I have relatives and friends in PA that don't come off like asses, so I know it's not the North in general. Are people from New England like this generally, or is the guy just unusually abrasive? |

Sounds like he's from Boston, and they're all idiots and Sox fans. Noone up here likes those people, the decent Northerners are all Yankees fans. |

Ok, good. You are exactly right statewise - he's from Massachussets. Thank God, I was wondering if all Northerners were like that. I'm glad to hear that they're not |

| It's true, Rick, people from all regions can become an asshole by becoming an extreme anti-smoker -- it doesn't necessarily have to do with your state. Look at Scott and Seth - they're both from Vermont, recently married to each other of course, and they're also assholes. |

| I knew that anyone who is an extreme anti-smoker is an ass no matter where they are from.... one of the very reasons that guy is an ass LOL |

| A friend of mine read this and tried those new Eclipse Cigs (the Menthol version). You can buy them at Rite Aid or 7-Eleven. He said they were a little wierd, but pretty good. They don't actually burn down (no ashes), they just kind of burn out. |

Hey nate, thanks for letting me know where I can find them. Unfortunately, there are no Rite Aids (most of the stores closed b/c of bankruptcy) around here or 7-Elevens. I may have to make a trip to Metairie to get them.
I'd like to try them and see what they're like, maybe buy a couple of packs when I have to go on job interviews... |
