Hi,
This is my first time here but I was reading some of your posts and I thought I would ask for help. I am trying to buy rolling tobacco in bulk for cheap. I have a business liscense and I could use the wholesalers, however I would have a world of tax problems considering I am not planning on reselling... I want it fdor personal use.
Does anyone know a good place that's cheap to buy it? I used to use allagany (an indian reservations) but they aren't in business anymore it seems.
My Local Store Sells tobacco for15.00 per 1lb bag so i'm hoping to get lower than that.
I would really appreciate your help,
Thanks Elibet.

The sagemore blend is $15 a pound with discounts for larger orders.
I have tried the Sagemore Virginia, natural, and the light
The virginia is pretty good.
The natural I don't care for too much.
And I only ordered a sample of the light which was also very good but actually seemed stronger then the Virginia blend.

If you are buying cheap or discounted RYO you might want to know what is in it. Even some premium commercial brands are using over 50% reconstituted tobacco in their blends. "Recon" is scrap tobacco that is treated with bleach and ammonia to make tobacco paper and then sprayed with flavorings. Recon allows tobacco companies to use cheap foriegn tobacco and recycle tobacco waste. The cheaper your cigarette, the more reconstituted tobacco you smoke.

Many foriegn countries do not regulate the kinds of pesticides that may be used on tobacco. Even US grown tobacco may have chemical residues from aldicarb and maliec hyradrazide to name just two. The only way to know what is going into your tobacco is to buy certified organic tobacco. A search on the terms "organic tobacco comapany" will take you to a group of organic tobacco growers who direct market their whole leaf organic tobacco with a kit to make your own RYO/MYO tobacco.

If it's for your use, I recommend D&R cigarettetobacco.com

Their tobacco is very high quality, and it's about $16 for a 14oz bag. Not quite as cheap as you wanted, but considering you're saving money doing the MYO thing, it's no big deal. I've been dealing with them for a couple of years now.

Thats a great big Ditto there for D&R Tobacco. They make excellent smoking blends. D&R Tobacco has been recognized by RYO Magazine for their refusal to use any reconstituted tobacco. D&R is not affiliated with any other mega-company so if you want to support small tobacco, Mark Ryan and D&R Tobacco is da-Man.

I've only been making ryo's since the beginning of March when NJ decided they wanted their tax dues. I'm using D&R. I just completed my 3rd order from them after buying locally and one other on line. Look at it this way on the D&R, $16 for the tobacco and $5-6 for 2 boxes of tubes. That's under 11 per carton. Oops, shipping $7, that's the average on most of the online, so now we're talking 14/carton. So you double up your orders to save on shipping, and that will be cheaper then driving around trying to bargain shop. They are quick too. I ordered Thursday night. When I got home from work yesterday (Monday), my package was waiting for me.

I pay about $17.00 for Stoker #2 or Gambler. I really like the Drum and occassionally buy that when I have a few extra bucks.
tubes here are only $2.00 for 200.
