Some have asked me how I can stuff up to 375 smokes in an hour, so I thought I would take a few minutes and post a modification that I made to my work bench that took me from 225 per hour, up to an average of 350 per hour.
The picture below is a simple laminated shelf board that I cut to be 4 inches deeper then the machine and about a foot wider. You will also notice that I cut a hole on it, roughly 1/2 inch smaller then the bottom of the Supermatic.

I then used a C-Clamp to hold the Machine to the top of the work bench and drilled 6 holes all the way through the shelfboard and the top of the bench. This made all the holes line up. I took some 1/2 dowel pins and glued them into the holes in shelf board (after removing the clamps and seperating the board from the bench top.)

I placed the machine on the top of the shelf board, slightly bent 4 washers and screwed them in place. This holds the machine to the shelf board.

Now the dowel pins will fit into the holes on the workbench, and between uses, allows you to remove the machine from the bench for cleaning and for general use of the workbench top.

Now instead of using 2 hands, one to crank the machine and one to hold the machine down, I can use both hands to keep the process going. The dowels do a great job of keeping the machine in place, freeing your other hand for placing tubes and getting tobacco ready for the next stuff.
The hole I cut out of the bottom makes it so I never have to remove the machine from the base for cleaning or maintenance.
Nothing very fancy, but very effective.
Now ya know.
Take Care,
