Like I said, I thin Brooke is hanging it up. I had a nuclear response to logandude's defense of the 70% figure but couldn't post it.
Had headache this morning. Why did I drink cheap air beer? |

Forgot to add: check the site next week. I'm hearing word of a well funded legal challenge which may happen. Remember, the banners were blown out of the box last year by a successful challenge to their referndum push.
We'll see.
Someone told me to have a beer to offset the headache. I had one and it worked. Now, I'm trying to see if six makes me fel six times as good.
Cheers. |

That is good news, someone needs to push these bans up the legal ladder. When she gets this back up, I will be the first to send a few bucks there way.
This whole thing sounds so much like what happened in our town, until a comprimise was floated, and some of the Restaraunts buckled, hoping that a comprimise was possible, the thing (I think) would have fallen, but then the buzzards started to circle and we were through. |

Nah, don't give up. As dumb as it sounds I have been seeing some things that swing our way.
Our only problem is; there isn't money from a settlement suit backing us.
So for every thing I see swinging our way...there's about 2 completely B.S. reasons swinging it the other way.
Hell, roll the dice, but don't do what I did during the whole bullshit drug-war-mandatory-drug-testing and stay silent...'cause you will regret it if you do not let your opinions known.
The outcome is not such an important thing as I've guessed that what is important is that you fight it until the end. |

2004 Health Dept testing proved secondhand smoke is 150 times safer than OSHA requireshttp://fightcityhall.net/_wsn/page2.html The beauty of this test is that it was conducted by an Environmental Health Departmant trying to prove how hazardous secondhand smoke is......when in actuality it proves quite the contrary. Use this information in future testimony.....it helped defeat a statewide MN. smoking ban for the second straight year, and it aggravates the antis.
Further RWJF activities available herehttp://cleanairquality.blogspot.com/ Also feel free to contact me if you need help. |

Just so you all know, money was never Ban the Ban's problem. Getting people to show up is the problem. Yammering on the website is not constructive. That's why I got so angry at you people.
There are limits to what Ban the Ban could do when I was the only person showing up.
We had plenty of money and plenty of stuff: t-shirts, matchbooks, bumper stickers, info sheets, postcards: I just got tired of going around town and handing them out by myself while you people made asshats of yourselves on the internet. |

Not being from DC I was not able to assist (We have our own battle to fight here).
We were invited to the bantheban site to help fight the propaganda posters. Yes it did get annoying. I agree completely, but some thought they needed an assist, so we came.
Know this. We are behind you in this. The true problem is apathy. Face it, not many really care one way or another. That actually makes the pro-ban sides easier, and the anti ban side harder. When 70% of the population does not smoke, then 70% is easily swayed against smoking. Most of that 70% could care less, but it takes less to shut up the minority, then the majority. That is what the pro-ban side banks on.
Best of luck in your efforts. |

| As always: "The only [beeyotch] is; "you know most people agree with you, you know most people feel like you do." the problem is, "They're too [freakin'] scared to get in an arguement." |
