| Ordered 6 cartons from cigmall on 3/11, received them on 3/29. I had my fingers crossed, but it seems to have turned out fine. I did have to sign for the packages when the mailman came though, so we'll see if the IRS comes knocking... |

| I didn't think the US customs would catch on to the Russians that fast, but it seems they did. Now you can only order from the native American Sites with a check or money order. The indian sites are a lot more now, so you may want to start injecting. |

They didnt - I had to delete that last post, it was a lie from a competing online vendor. |

YeDave;
Nothing to worry about there - see my other post, I filled one out for cigmall last weekend when the postman missed me.
See the other posts by Tom and I where we discuss the fact that the post office is not monitoring who is receiving tobacco - the gov't is getting the list of consumers from some online retailers who are rolling over and giving it to them.
But again, I repeat my earlier argument - it is still cheaper to pay some back tax a year later than to pay store tax at the point of sale - the percentage is about 30-40% lower~! |

Oh man, and I thought she was a respectable smoker, just with a little bit of an attitude. |

I thought she was also. But then I went back to read her posts. The timeframes just didn't add up. I didn't trust her - I've been so paranoid lately with these hackers coming in here with that damn bogus tax revolt site that I'm shutting down anything that sounds like advertising for one retailer or another! That includes bashing retailers, because I've had quite a few people from competing online stores come in here to bash each other.
Unfortunately I've had to temporarily shut down private messages, because that user Jan from smokers tax revolt was trying to crash the server hard drive by sending hundreds of private messages to every user on the board - and we've got over 1000 now!
And then Redliner feels he has to retire (and I emailed him asking him to come bacK). So there's been so much going on we all just have to stick to the topic - Smoker's Rights! Stay away from hyping or trashing other websites, and we'll all be good! |

Do you believe we're fairly safe with CIGmall, as far as taxes are concerned.
I'm using 3 or 4 sites now in case one rats me out.
I always have the option of driving to NH and pay $26.99, but soon they will be another $.50 a pack to pay for education or something I've heard.
I just like European cigs better. |

I just learned that Indiana is raising cigarette taxes 15% per pack. YeDave, it might be time to join the MYO crowd.

Here's my theory on online ordering: Yes, you may get taxed. Right now I think it's about a 50/50 chance, unless you know you can trust the online vendor. I'm pretty sure Cigmall is not going to report anything to the US because they operate of the Ukraine. I would highly doubt it.
BUT, according to everyone else who posted their back tax letters on here, when you get a back tax letter, it's for a fraction of the cost of what it would be to buy a pack in your state.
For example, it's about $1.50/pack to order online. I think the state average is probably about $5.00/pack. Everyone who rec'd back tax letters never had to pay more than an extra $1.50 per pack. You're still saving $2/pack by buying online!
To me, it's a win/win situation (esp. since I really can't be bothered to spend the time to MYO). |
