Hi, folks ...
I previously posted in the "Cigarette Tax" thread of this forum, and thought you might be interested in the following news ...
As a result of my posting there, BWilliams put me in touch with Jeff Linkous, a reporter for the Associated Press. He interviewed me over the phone, and briefly quoted me in the article.
This morning, I received a phone call from the local FOX television station (WTXF, Philadelphia, Channel 29). They were doing a story on the whole tax bill issue, were going to interview the NJ State Treasurer, and wanted to do an interview with me, too. I agreed, of course, and they wound up spending about two hours with me, filming me at my home. The reporter, Christian Darr, expects that the whole story will be edited down to about a minute and a half, so it's going to be interesting to how I come across ...
If anyone wants to watch the story, it's supposed to be shown on the Fox Ten O'Clock News tonight (Friday, March 4). |

The reporter's name is Christian FARR, not Darr ... my bad |

That's great news! I trust you did mention this website  If you can record it via VCR, and send me a copy, I can encode it as an MPEG file and put it on the website so people can view it online. |

I just saw the FOX 29 news report, and frankly, it was nothing earth-shattering. The only significant item worth mentioning is that I obviously need some dental work.
I was on camera for about twenty seconds total, and all they did was report that I felt the tax may be being applied in violation of federal law. My original posting to the "Cigarette Tax" thread contains significantly more substance than the report did. |

I guess I have been watching the wrong fox network. I missed your comment about fox 29 and figured it would be channel 5 by me.
Did you tape it by any chance? |

That's great! It sends the message you're paying so much for smokes you can't afford dental work.
I didn't see the program, this threads been down all day and had no idea it was on. |
