Here's a simple word replacement exercise:

Effective as early as Spring of 2010, all smokers will be required to leave campus grounds in an effort to promote public safety.

Replace the word in italics with one of these:

Christians
Muslims
African Americans
Democrats
People wearing Stetson cologne
Coffee Drinkers

Think anyone would stand for this statement with a replacement word in it? Why should we?!

Because we have no numbers and we have no money.

Smokers are an easy mark for taxation and all manner of discrimination because most smokers are so mentally beaten down that they would go stand in a pile of manure and smoke if that was the only designated smoking area and then thank anti-smoking for allowing them to smoke at all. They wouldn't say shit if they had a mouthful.

Do we really need numbers, or can we just create the illusion of numbers by being loud and shrill? That strategy seems to work for the antis.
