| In the past, when those stickers first came out, i was guilty of flat out ignoring it. BUT it is the first thing i look for when i rent these days. BUT in some of the cars i have rented, it has been almost impossible to find (right inside the passenger door, stuck to the frame so unless you look for it you WONT see it. |

That's exactly my problem with the whole thing. They have absolutely no business to do so. I'm sick of being pushed, passively or otherwise. I can't imagine I'm alone.
Amen.
Maybe it's the rep's job to ask the customer what style of optional dashboard console they would prefer before delivery? Any colour you like as long as it's anti-smoking?
Anyway, it's a small problem caused by a big problem as you've pointed out above. More like 'big brother' problem maybe. If it was me I'd call the Toyota dealer prior to taking my pride&joy in for the first workshop warranty service, and tell them to order in an OEM console ashtray from the next year's Chinese model, and have them fit it while they do the first lube job. |

In my opinion, the boat of freedom either sails with all of us on it or none. |
