I can read here for an hour and go away not sure what I want to try to go purchase. 2 of the local stores that I called do not carry the Veguerre or whatever tobacco, that Marlboro smokers like.
I smoke Marlboro light one hundreds soft pack. I use to smoke any generic 100 light soft pack, but after awhile the really make me feel ill, and Marlboros dont.
Please, can someone who is familiar with Arizona brands, fill me in on what to buy. The salemen dont smoke, they havent a clue they can talk up a storm, but I know nothing of tobacco, so it means nothing to me. I am learning there is alot to it by reading here.
I just would like a starting point of what to purchase, with the smallest investment for the time. I dont need fancy products at this time, Id like to start this slow, since Im not quitting anytime soon, I will ease into things. I think for me, that tubes with filters will be easiest for me at this time, so a manual tube filler, and a single selection of tabaccoo will be so appriciated. I have written down some names of products and then comments about those products trying to enlighten myself to this new hopefully kinda money saving journey. Thank you so much for reading. I am looking at old old pages trying to not waste anyones time, but its just so new to me. Anyone in the AZ area, that knows the usual products please. I am now dealving into filters and tubes, I had no idea there is so much going on with this!!! I just want marlboro 100 soft pack tasting cigs, I do detect a change in taste or something with box I dont know why!!!! Smile

Personally, I think this site is way overpriced, but try here, they at least seem to have blends to match marlboros. I haven't smoked Marlboros in over 30 years now, but I do remember I preferred the box because the soft packs tasted nasty.....LOL

http://www.customblends.com/

I use premier light 100 tubes with regular tobacco and premier machine to stuff them. I'm satisfied.

Did Arizona just go FSC? Could be why the cigs taste bad now.

Custom Blends is running out of stock quickly - get an order in to see if it's available.

They will re-stock after April 1st - clearing out their old floor stock to not pay the Fed tax retroactively.

Most tobacco places will/should have cleaned out shelves of RYO tobacco on March 31st.
The Fed tax will kill them otherwise.

The Indian Reservation store, imposed the new taxes weeks ago instead of waiting for March 30!!!!
I was not looking to mail order once I read people got tax bills, I wasnt looking to duck taxes, I thought they just sold them cheaper. I guess tomarrow I will go to a few stores and note some prices. I thought I read that the Permeir paper tubes tasted like Parlament? I had no idea the papers had their own effects on cigarettes.
Still looking for a tobacoo to resemble Marlboro and I guess the paper tube type also, anyone??
What does FSC? Is that the papers that put themselves out? I have noticed the intial light doesnt stay lit, no problems after the intial light. Its the generics that make me ill, they taste fine, they upset my stomach though. I notice it right away.
What exactly is, regular tobacco?? Thank you.

For the tubes - after much trial and error - I like Zen tubes the best - they dont impart too much flavor addition.

All tubes are not made equally - many have different lengths of filter and the construction of them can go from shoddy to excellent.

I started using Premier tubes but found a great tube in Zen, Rambacks are also great.

FSC cigarettes are made with Fire-Safety-Compliant paper - if you have a spare hour or four, google search the net on FSC and see what others have to say about it [I've never smoked one (my area of the country changed to them over a year ago)]

A manual tube stuffer will most likely get you frustrated (they are a pain to use) buy a table top injector- you'll never turn back.

For the most part an Indian Reservation store should be your cheapest buy - they will only be paying the Fed Tax and not the State tax.

Many companies increase their prices already to take advantage of the customers hording tobacco before the tax is implemented. These stores need to pay the Fed increase on all floor stock-warehouse stock - anything in travel to stores/warehouses on March 31st.

It's a huge nut to pay and they are trying to build a kiddy of money to help pay for it.
A smart retailer would run their stock down to zero on March 31st - but if there's too much back stock they are probably resorting to increase prices to offset the taxman.

Dear LostinAZ,

We all feel your pain. I smoked Marlboro Light 100s for many years and just recently, after following this forum for weeks, purchased a Premier Supermatic Injector. Using the Premier Light 100 tubes and Golden Harvest Light tobacco, I will never go back to store bought again. Now I prefer to mix some Zen Peach or Vanilla with the Golden Harvest to make a very smooth smoke. Is it identical to Marlboros? No, but Golden Harvest Light is very close. Not quite as strong, no additives, no fire safe BS, and at least up until April 1st, "cheap".

The front end setup cost is about the price of 1 carton of cigarettes (after the price increase). I believe I paid $36.00 in Delaware for my machine. Currently the tubes are running $2.35 per 200 and the last pound of Golden Harvest I purchased from Smokers Outlet was $18.90 including shipping.

If you spread the cost of the injector machine over lets say 10 cartons of cigarettes that would be approximately $3.60 per carton. Tobacco after the tax increase will be approximately $43.00 per pound (makes at least 2 cartons, and tubes I believe will be about $4.00 per 200 or $2.00 per carton. That totals $27.10 per carton for the first 10 cartons. After amortizaton of the machine that drops to approximately $23.50 per carton. Still expensive? Yes, but much cheaper than store bought, and when you find the right tobacco blend, more flavorful and satisfying.

Good Luck in finding the least expensive smokes.

A lot of the MYO online shops say the Jenkins Act only applies to shops that sell actual cig/cigar brands. And as far as I know, those people you read about who got their back tax bills...they bought cig cartons from normal online smoke shops...not MYO online smoke shops.

I know I neva got a back tax bill when I bought loose tobacco online myself. And that was 3 years ago when I tried making my own cigs.

I really don't know. I don't buy OTC cigs anymore, but haven't heard anything on the news about FSC here. Perhaps "lostinAZ" can answer that since he obviously still pays the extortion via store bought cigs.

I just looked it up - Arizona is going FSC August 1st - another great reason to stay with RYO/MYO.

We must have our own state tax too them, many truck stops have a sign up showing the new pricing going up at the end of March.
The Indian Reservation went up approx 7 at the begining of this month already, I asked she said corporate put the price up. They had the casino move a few miles away which probably hurt their business alot.

Thank you all for your time I appriciate it. As long as I can get in the range of Marlboro, instead of Parliment, BH, Winston, or even Camel lights which overtime was too much for me, Ill be satisfied!
