I’m writing this to any one who will take the time to read this, it is only my thoughts about the whole thing.

I have been a smoker for the last 20 some years I have had some medical problems because of it and some not because of it. The way the government has made the price of the cigarettes with their taxes gone through the roof is ridiculous, there is no need for that. I’m well aware of the effects of cigarette smoking and the effects of 2nd hand smoke, if you don’t like it get out of my smoke area. What the government is doing is like the prohibition during the 1920’s and some you will see cigarette loads instead of drug lords.

When alcohol consumption was banned in the United States millions of Americans still did it and some died needlessly. During the 1950’s and 1960’s we as Americans tried to discriminate against a race of people just because the color of their skin. All of this is wrong we (smokers) have rights. We have the right to go out to eat in public restaurant and enjoy a good meal then afterwards smoke a cigarette or two. Native Americans smoked their pipes after every meal why can’t us so called Americans do it. We have a right to go to any sport games that are played outside and smoke you can drink there can’t you. We have the right to smoke where ever we feel that it is necessary for us too.

When we go to the doctors office we have a right to tell them how much we smoke and they do have the right to try and convince us to try stop but that is it. Leave it at that. When you are over the legal age of eighteen and you can go off and fight for your country and you are old enough to make your own mind up you are old enough to smoke. The government has no right to make us quit this a form of discrimination on their part. PARENTS should teach their children and show them the effects of smoke not just make haters out of them. Taxes should not be placed on smokers over a certain age only children. Smokers should not be preached at when they go to the doctors office because it is our right as AMERICANS. Stop telling us what to do we are old enough.

If the government feels the need to tax something tax alcoholic drinks and preached to drinking. But as I see it when you drink you smoke it goes hand in hand.
